The swapped 6-speed made it seem badass on the dyno going though 4th so fast cause its a short gear.
I found driving the STi going irritating having to shift constantly…and needed to bang 5th just before the traps or else bounce limiter was ultra annnoying.

Judging by the video, I can see what you’re saying, the ratios do seem pretty close…perhaps even too much so.

Yeah it ran out of gear and bounced the limiter literally feet from the beams. It was a few years back but I think I remember faster ETs just letting up while in 4th LOL.
I find it far too tight compared to other boxes but the 2.5L is definitely gangster.
Problem is the 6 speed is not a drag transmission, I believe it is better suited for the twisties.
The 05 STI i drove was a joy to drive, I really like the shorter gears and would have no problem commuting with the vehicle to work.
