You wanna bring it down on tuesday night? Your bro is comin anyway. I’ll pull the ol 4 out and we can get er up on stands if need be. :ninja
I forget if you bought the diff new or used.
When you put the fluid in the diff did you do the whole drive around like an idiot in circles thing to break it in. I know people haven’t done that correctly and damaged the diff and it usually then is clunky
if it’s anything like any other import diff (crv etc) its called clutch burnishing, and i know with the hondas they start to make a whir / growl noise on a tight corner. fluid change, clutch burnish, and you’re good to go. Did it to my moms.
I don’t usually fuck with Nissans, but it’s all the same shit at the end of the day… what causes the clunk? is it the clutches engaging real hard? is it common around corners or straight line? or is it like a u-joint type clunk on any other rwd car?
From the short drive i took it on, it seems to clunk when taking off when the rear end engages and when going around a slow corner…
In a straight line under acceleration it makes no noise
It clunks around turns when not under hard acceleration, but it’s quiet when the clutch is in. When shifting slowly it will also clunk, straight line or not. It’s like a u-joint clunk.
It’s a new unit, I did the proper break in procedure, I followed everything to a T. I don’t think it’s the actual KAAZ unit, it seems to me to be something like the output shafts or my freshly rebuilt axles :lol
If I had a jack redily availible i woulda jacked it up and checked but ehh i dunno something just seems funky…
I’ve had it up on jack stands numerous times, can’t really figure it out, it seems like it’s not the axles (just rebuilt by Axle Express), but something with the diff, but not the KAAZ unit. Maybe gears? But I had the back lash checked and it was fine. So that leads me to believe the output shafts. The open diff I used to swap the KAAZ into never came with output shafts, I used an old set I had from when I chewed up a gear set with the VLSD.
Throw some shitty tires on it and go terrorize a parking lot.
You’ll find out what’s wrong, if anything, real quick. haha.
Srsly.
Yo I haz been terrorizen da str33tz, shit dont break yet son… mad l33t Jaydiem str33t driftarz :rofl
if it breaks just weld it
Oh ok good.
Sweet car, I hope to see it out soon.
Maybe I’ll drop in my 12 bolt posi :lol
Thanks
saw you yest around 5ish… drove by the gas station in rotterdam across from goleb. i was gettin gas in wifeys car.
Yup I was just cruising around :lol
My Kaaz 2 way makes lots of noise and clunking. Worse than a welded for daily driving. No joke. The severity will probably depend on how hard your diff is setup to lock.
We can compare Sunday. What’s going on Sunday? You’ll find out, jason should call/text you soon.
Finally someone I can compare too! Sweet man, looking forward to seeing you then.
