Well I’m sure that the motorset can be found for closer to $2500 if you really look. And the conversion kit can be had for less than $2k I’m sure. Like having a local place or a friend fabricate the oil pan and driveshaft. Its cheaper
Quick update:
Tire Rub!!!
More pics and details will be posted here: SlideNY
I’ll just be posting a few pics every once in a while on shift518.
dumpy whip
Looks shitty, covered in mud doesnt it?
Nah it’s the badge on the front
This whole thread should be deleted
Hmm didnt see a badge on the front, so I dont know what your talking about.
you drifting the rolla this yr benny?
Why don’t you move that pile out of the way so your brother can work on a real car?
Bunch of whining darkies in here :lol
Jon isn’t doing anything to his car. He has to build his motor first!
:rofl :rofl
What are the winter plans? You finally gonna make some real boost and try to keep up?
I’d like to, have to setup my new engine management and plan on rewiring the whole car. And fix the roof, FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU!
oh damn! why rewire, because of the rub through I assume?
I dont use 1/2 the wires in the car, maybe even more. There is a wire issue bugging me since I bought the car and yes, the harness is going to be relocated FAR AWAY from the wheels.
And with the megasquirt ems it will need a custom engine harness anyway.
Wayne, maybe you can help me with an idea. I’d like to setup a built in jack system to lift the rear off the ground to change tires. Jon and I were thinking about a couple 10" cylinders. I just need a small pump, something light, 12V.
Just use a regular hydro pump… should only need one, you’d need to weld cages / supports for the cylinders. See what you can get in a telescoping cylinder so you don’t have huge ass cylinders sticking up into the car. we can run it off the regular battery no problem as long as it’s one pump. You’re going to need a GOOD battery. Total weight would be minimum of 100lbs in the trunk. Just locate the pump on the opposite side of the batt.
Hmm that seams like alot of weight compared to the benefit of having it. Rolling a jack under the car only takes 2 seconds anyhow. Just my 2cents.
^ not when you cant even fit a low pro jack under it
The lower the car is the better, it will allow you to get the car off the ground with less of a cylinder stroke…
This would be a fun project steve!!! The key is going to be in the cylinder selection and pumphead. I bet we can make it work on 12v. How serious are you and when do we start?
Im very serious, but want to pull the motor and gut the interior first. I already have a good idea where to weld brackets to mount the cylinders too. We can probably get away with a 8" cylinder, the suspension travel is less than 2". The speed of the system doesnt matter. Will we have to install a spring return on the cylinder though?
