Any help from those with experience with N2O is greatly Appreciated…
I drive a 1998 Dakota R/T.
5.9L 360 V8, Some mods (Intake, Trottle Body + Spacer, Edelbrock Headers + Y-Pipe, 2.5 Inch Exhaust Without Cat, Richmond 4.56 Gearing.) Nothing Too Major… Recently Purchased And Installed NX Wet Kit. Have not filled the bottle or sprayed it yet… What do you guys recommend shot wise? I talked to someone at kennedy’s and he said this isnt good weather to be doing it, but seeing is how its a wet shot the cold weather cant really make a difference can it? and second of all he told me no more than a 50 or 75 shot… i have all the jets to create whatever shot i want, right now its set up for 100, but im not sure on what ill be safe running. Ive been told a 100 shot will be fine on a v8 but i just want to be safe, thanks for your help

do you still have a stock bottom end? if so, i wouldn’t push more than a 100 shot MAX. if you’re gonna be spray happy, id keep it to a 75 or less.
if u need help working on it, let me know i might be able to lend a hand.
i wouldnt go more than 75
BikerFry- no that is not me… my truck is red and im in the tonawanda area when im not on staten island working… Mike- thanks for the help offer but i already installed the kit myself, it was actually pretty easy, or atleast i was just so excited that it seemed really easy hahah… yes internals and everyhting else are stock… im dont plan on doing internals anytime soon seeing how its my daily driver… I definately plan on a bottle heater very soon… more pressure = good… and i was thinkin 75 shot as well, i already run 93 octane, i know that is pretty much a requirement… i just want to be running a safe amount, i dont plan on using it that much, obviosuly when i first use it, and when i catch a race. i dont have the money to be spraying everytime i press the gas pedal
yeah 75 shot should be good. you could get away with a 100 shot but since its your DD id stick with the 75.
I wouldn’t do more than 100 shot. Dodge have shitty transmissions and I recall mine breaking after going through a few bottles using 100 shot . Should you break yours, I know a shop in Buff that can rebuild it well. If you haven’t sprayed yet, try starting with 35 shot and work your way up to ensure you don’t have any issues. Get a cooler set of spark plugs and run 93oct as well. You definitely need a heater in NY weather. (I have brand new a NX heater for sale. PM if your interested.)
Already Running 93 Octane, have been for the past few tanks, colder spark plugs were done about 2 weeks ago- Autolight Colpper core model 3923. colder than stock, thinkin about starting with 50 shot for a little while then step up to 75 MAYBE 100…
Mike- thanks sounds good
mJstk- PM sent, ive heard the tranny’s arent the greatest, but ill be alright with a 75 shot, and since its a wet kit im better off as well, adding more fuel as nitrous is injected is a little safer i think…
the trannys are bad, but not THAT bad. as long as u keep it out of overdrive when u spray, u should be fine up to a 100 shot.
So turn the overdrive off if im gunna hit the button? i turn it off before i race… i heard its a better idea to have it off if ur beating on it
yeah the overdrive is the weak points in the 46RE. i hardly ever drive with it on, just because i like how it drives with it off. what you want to do when racing someone is leave it off, and then when u wind out 3rd completely hit the button to turn it back on and it will go into 4th.
thats what ive found out, you have to turn it back on to upshift one last time… been there done that lol… purge kit was purchased with the NX kit and installed as well… im kind of ahead of the game i guess… i have everything i need… purge, geting heater soon, 93 octane, colder plugs, some knowledge, overdrive situation, just was curios on a safe shot to run… thanks for help from all of you
just out of curiosity, how do you have the jets set up? do u just have it drilled into your intake tube? or do you actually have the plate that goes between the TB and intake manifold?
For now into the inake tube, i plan on getting a TB plate in the future but not too soon…
you dont need one. Just pruge through the motor.
well the purge kit is already installed so im not gunna take it off just becasue i dont have o have it, i thought it would be better to have one so i got one… also should i get it tuned or will i be alright just going along wiht it?
if you have the right jets in, then its fine
u cant tune those things. the only 2 effective ways of tuning them are either sending your PCM to KRC for a custom re-flash, or getting a FAST system.
