School me on...

Nitrous…

Do’s
Dont’s

Looking to add some more power without spending tons of money
if i spray it will be like a 50-75 shot

Car has intake and exhaust
What type of gains am i looking at?

Do: Add many many safety devices. Research thuroughly. Have somone who knows what they’re doing set it up for you and tune it. Have enough money to fix what you blow up and not cry for months because you couldn’t afford to play with nitrous in the 1st place

Dont: Put it in yourself because your buddy told you its easy and it’ll be “mad fast yo!” Don’t put nitrous straight into your valve cover (see story from about 3 years ago where some retard put it straight into the valve covers of his corsica or something haha)

I’ve been trying to find that story for the past few week with no luck, pretty damn funny though.

But yes, when installing this make sure you don’t take shortcuts with it, it’s not something you want to do that with.

ohhh… and I forgot DONT: Forget to take pictures of after damage so we can make OWN3D pictures haha

nos can be very fun and easy to use…i’d go with a wet system as you will have to compensate for the added power of nos with extra gas in your engine…a dry system depends on you tuning your engine to provide enough gas…which means injectors or computer changes…wet nos on the other had taps into your gas feed into your stock injectors and had a solinoid which fires extra gas in with your nos…wet is the only way to go in my eyes…get a wot (wide open throttle) switch and then wire in a togle into that so the nos only kicks in when the switch is thrown and the pedle is mashed… now i must go finish the nos install on the vette have fun!

OOOOOOOo, these titles that leave u hangin’ pulls ya right in.

All the above is good info.

Even if its just a 50-75 shot, I’d still invest in a (electronic sender) “fuel pressure” gauge, and either a new fuel pump, or maybe run a lower gauge (thicker/heavier) wire from the relay to the actual plug, and make a shorter ground. That gets you more voltage (less voltage drop) at the pump = mo’ flow. Maybe they got a higher flowing pump or even a fuel pump re-wire kit for your car but, since I dont know what kind of car u have (maybe a TC :gotme:) I cant tell ya.

yeah its a tc

and theres a few guys running 75-100 shots on stock fuel system and its fine.

i dont wanna go about 75, and of course it will be a wet shot

and i know zex makes a kit that once the switch is on it sprays automatically when your WOT

I wouldn’t go with ZEX on that car just because I BELIEVE (not positive) that ZEX makes mostly dry kits and I would suggest a wet kit on that car. I hope your car is a 5-speed because the auto in that car is weak. Also when using nitrous (not NOS) you should change your spark plugs to a colder rating.

car is 5spd
and yes it will def be a wet kit

i like using ngk copper plugs with nos…call them up and ask for one degree colder plugs…you can leave them in the call all the time and when u hit the button its a lil more safe…run a 50…then 75 ! lol

IT IS NOT NOS. It is nitrous.

N.O.S is a brand

PM me. I know someone looking to get rid of a kit.

I have an NX wet kit too that i’ve been meaning to sell but have been to busy with my move and everything else to do anything about it. I’ll let it go for a good price it you’re interested.

Autolite plugs part # 3923, one range colder…
NX wet kit - run whatever shot you feel safe, im running 100
get a brass distributor cap and brass rotor
run 93 octane
:drive:

I don’t know… I’ve heard too many horror stories about wet kits to even want to bother with that kind of a setup, although they’re alot more tuneable. Unless you want to risk blowing a hole out of your intake, I’d go with a dry kit JMO

everyone runs wet kits
its safer from what i hear

Wet opinion is safer because it allows you to run nitrous without having to retune the car. The more nitrous you add, the more fuel you add. Wet FTW.

Dr. Stevil - how would you blow a hole in your intake by running a wet kit?

BSP TC- Go wet kit, its safer than a dry kit and fun as hell. if your running no more than a 75 shot you should be good, and an intake and exhaust is the best mods to compliment nitrous, so you are good there. go for it, the worst that can happen on a small shot is your headgasket, but most likely your not going to have a problem. i have yet to have any problems with a 100 shot, ive been through about 3-4 bottles, and if im running 100 on a v8 you will be alright with a 50-75 on your car, have fun!

from the nitrous puddling in the intake causing a backfire

I don’t know… I have yet to run either… just saying that I’ve read about it quite often.

I’ve always heard that a dry kit, especially for a small shot, is the best way to go (although I guess it could be dangerous if something in the fuel delivery system goes wrong). I’m no expert though
