Nitrous rules

yes it is!

250 hp on the stock auto tranny in the cobalt is the limit until you biuld the tranny with a better tq convertor and possibly clutch packs, if he has the means to use turbo or supercharging do that instead of n2o

why boost over n20?

yea youre fucked. two power adders, what you goign to do?

i beleive he has a 2.2 ecotec cavi…

same motor, but im not sure if he has the R12 tranny that comes in the cobalt

Just make sure when hooking it up to add 2 of each solenoid. 2 for fuel 2 for nitrous unless you are going to run a dry system

why? we’re going with wet so we dont have to do anything with the timing and shit

i cant wait to see this blistering 17 sec pass on nitrous.

:kekegay:

it’ll do a mid 14 low 14 def…

i’d like to see it do a high 13 but thats pushing it…

we’ll just have to wait and see :kekegay:

Friend of mine had a solenoid stick open on him 1 day. thats why we whent with 2 of each solenoid`s on my set up.

Honest i perfer dry over wet kits lot less work to connect everything up

simple as this-- the gm ecotec motor and auto tranny will own fwd racing this year-- from pro to am classes.

if i were to buy a new car-- any brand- i would buy a new cobalt or a solstice. the solstice i think would be bad ass due to being rwd and soon an awd model. but dont know how their trannys are. so instead i would buy the cobalt 1 step below the s/c one- as it comes w/ the good auto but no charger. i would then proceed to build a turbo motor per the gm buildbook recipe, and make over 600whp that i could hook via an auto tranny. mount up some 26 inch slicks and go racing. wonder if gm will let u buy all the performance parts and tack it in on the car payment, lol. or

Guys here are talking about the solstice maybe getting a v8 as a special model. i doubt it though

thats exactly what im in the process of doing, should have the stage 1 turbo in the car by july

there is a independant guy named mallet that is putting in the ls2 into the solstices but i think only like 100 a year is all he is doing, it costs about $18,000 extra to have it done by mallet and i think the solstice has to be black only

i said boost over n20 since nitrous has to always be refilled, its not constant power, its not good to use on the street etc. but like i said only if you have the means then go with boost, if you dont have alot of money right now then i guess you have no choice but nitrous…

why isnt it good to use on street?
constant power wears motors faster then once in awhile
juice over boost… juice gives you more power for the buck

Of course it’s all personal preference…

But I really like the instant surge of torque you get from nitrous as compared to the relatively slower build from boost.

i guess it is personal preference, but as far as not using it on the street for one where are you gonna have the room to really take advantage of it and 2 its illegal to have hooked up on the street so you would have to re hook it up everytime you wanted to use it, plus the out of pocket costs of having to keep refilling it suck and finding a conveniant place to do it. i just like the idea of bolting a turbo on and being done with it and as far as wear goes a properly tuned boosted engine should not wear any more than a n2o would

that is true about the power surge feeling but like its been said before, a nice linear power band may feel slower but in reality it is not

turbo + nitrous = win
