 at this thread
So please explain Coax cable to your door is better then fiber?
Everyone hates dsl?
dear Sherm,
coaxl cable has two wires and fiber is one or more
<3
Mike
yes i spelled coaxl
does anyones TV have fiber inputs?..
I never said one was better then the other…
Fiber is king in everything but cost effectiveness (to home that is) TW has alot of fiber hung around WNY and has been for years…
I did say fiber is a little early, I only say that cause fiber can carry 129 terabits/sec, what fucking home in the world needs that? Even cable can carry 8 Gbps, who would need that?
How about this LZ, What do you think happens when the fiber enters your basement and goes into that motorola equipment, what comes out of that equipment and goes to your tv or internet?
do they even make tv’s sub $5,000 with fiber inputs?
this is why we cant have nice things
you will never have “true” HD to your tv
I guess I have gotten used to my 30Mb connection at work, that I need to have it at home too.
Obviously you don’t understand about building for future…
It wasn’t 10 years ago 56k was OMGZ huge bandwidth and Dual Channel ISDN was OMGZ huge bandwidth for business…Now people can get affordable 20/20meg FiOS into their home…and business can get 10gb ethernet hand offs…
If TW had the bandwidth/infrastructure to support 20/20 and higher speeds they would be offering it already…Instead they offer nifty new services like point to point cable solutions for business…
Fiber input? lol
this makes my day nice
back to the Sliced bread
The expression “the best thing since sliced bread” is regularly used in praise of an invention or breakthrough that has had a real impact on our daily lives.
Obviously i do, i just stated it was early for what it can provide. We don’t have anything and won’t have anything that needs that bandwidth inside a persons home for awhile, but when it comes, verizon might have the upper hand. If another company does not come up with a better way of bringing bandwidth into a home.
Business is a whole different story, i’m talking strictly residential, FTTH. TW offers fiber to businesses, and has for awhile now.
And 56k was intro’d over 10 years ago, hell dialup modems have been out since early 80s.
haha u sound like the guy that came to do my repair, bashing RS and gold plating.
too funny.
I always hit my cap when DLing using premier., but fios is over 20meg down so thats why im going with them, plus cheaper.
:tif:
Bandwidth to the home is starting to be huge business everything is internet driven…with huge amounts of media(better pic quality, better video) its only going to grow over the next few years…
I see the network Verizon is building as an investment and is looking towards the future but…
I know TW offers fiber…one of our extra DS3s here is from TW…
does anyone rember that song “you + me = us”
what was the magician/ group
was it N 2 Gether?
Gee i wonder if its from the years of replacing a piece of RS and the problem is resolved… Have you heard of antronix?
lets not forget isos.
…56k as a standard was 1998
lol he was a trip, nvr heard of them.
and if i could have an oc3 in my house i would, can never have too much BW
