also remember that antennas are going out of date in feb, im assuming everyone has been seeing this themselves but no one has said it yet. you need to get that box for a digital signal for those channels instead of antenna.
i also was wondering how well dish has become. does it still get knocked out every time a storm rolls in or does it actually stay on?
we have dish at where I work and it fucking sucks
it goes down everytime we have extreme weather ie wind gusts over 20mph, sprinkling rain or anytime its anything other than blue skies and sun
Nothing pisses me off more than watching an hour of a movie and then having the screen freeze and the “searching for signal” pop up
it also depends on how good your signal is, if the dish itself is secured to the building etc…
when we first got dish network waaaaay back before directv, the idiots forgot to tighten the bolts down and it kept losing the signal every time a gust of wind rolled through.
Antennas are not going out, only NTSC broadcasts (standard definition TV) are going out. HD broadcasts over the air will continue same a now. So if you have an antenna hooked into an HD TV*, you’ll still be able to watch all your regular over-the-air channels including the Bills games for free.
Converter boxes are for your grandparents who still use a 4:3 NTSC standard definition TV and watch Oprah over-the-air.
Mine works fine in rain. In real heavy rain it will go out but that passes in a few minutes.]
When it was first installed I had trouble in wind but it was because the installer missed the roof rafters and had secured the dish just to the roof plywood. Once that was fixed and it was actually mounted to something secure wind hasn’t been an issue.
lol i dont watch much tv as it is though. so i mean i really cant say to much about how tw is. but i mean i remember watching sabres games and getting very very very pissed when the picture cut out right on a break away or powerplay
What ones are you talking about? They change it up quite a bit…
They added a bunch of HD channels to the free HD tier, then they took them away.
Now I get a bunch of shitty HD channels, but its no extra charge so I can’t complain.
Still paying 39.99 for 12 months with TW for digital cable with the free HD tier., then I’ll call them up and threaten them to give me another 12 months at the same rate.
