Nylon Gas lines

Has anybody ever worked with these before. I was talking with my dads mechanic and he said u need a special nylon kit for the clips…Is it possible to run the nylon gas lines but just use a fuel injection clamp on it?

im looking to do this at home

Rob, are you going to replace them right to the pump?

yeah i am…im running the line from the sending unit straight to the fuel filter

why nylon? I’d just use 300psi fuel hose with a nylon anti-abrasion jacket - if you dont want it to pulsate at all you could get >2000psi hose which doesnt even need hose clamps heh

so ur saying just get some fuel injection line?..if u do nylon ur dont for good thats why i want it…

anyone?

I’m trying to remember what the connectors are called. Duck bill connectors (?), it’s like a quick release system for nylon lines.

Tools I used:

  1. Flare tool
  2. Pipe cutter
  3. Crimper
  4. Cutters
  5. Hot water
  6. Assorted screw drivers

I cut my lines infront of my rear subframe, flared the metal lines and installed the quick connect ends. Then I put the matching male ends on the nylon lines and snaped them into the female ends on the hard lines.

Rob: this is all from memory from the beginning of the summer, I hope I can find supporting websites that illustrate how to install the lines.

For installing the nylon lines, i slide the collar over the line, soaked the line in hot water and then pused the nylon line onto the quick connect (ribbed end) then crimped the line using the steel collar. When soaking your line, plug the end not going into the water to help prevent water from entering the line being soaked (also, put the line in at a 90deg angle, do not let it “float”, etc).

I used a steel to nylon adapter for the rubber hose ends at the fuel filter, obviously using a steel collar on the nylon side and the stock O-Ring compression fitting on the rubber side.

This kit looks good:

Ask questions, it will help jog my memory.
