WTF are you talking about? I wanted to trade him for a solid D-man or scorer. I never once said keep him.
okay. care to name all the solid defencemen that were available before the deadline?
sabres=fail
looks a lot like our team, at least the large majority of the players on it.
though I will not give up on this team until the are mathematically out of it
at work tomorrow. they didn’t have to wait until the day of the deadline. i’m off to watch this No Country For Old Men thing before bed.
GUYS THIS IS WHY WE LOST
TORONTO – Buffalo Sabres’ forward Andrew Peters has been suspended for one game, without pay, for an altercation involving New York Rangers player Colton Orr in NHL game #1045 on March 10, the National Hockey League announced today.
The incident occurred at 20:00 of the third period. While on the players’ bench, Peters became involved in a confrontation with Orr on the ice. Peters was assessed a 10-minute misconduct on the play.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Peters will forfeit $2,807.49. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
Peters will miss tonight’s game at Pittsburgh
and double post
the campbell trade was never a good thing
either a) keep him, using his ability on a thin blue line, even before injuries…and hope to come to some sort of terms with him during that time
or b) keep him and use his remaining time to help bolster a playoff spot, even knowing that he would be gone at the end of the season.
in any way the trade was not a good thing, sorry.
i am going to laugh my ass off if the sabres are able to use the draft pick to snag an amazing D man
oh and in other news, la roque hat elbowed paetsch will probably be suspended for a while
Toronto 3 PHI 2.
I wonder if the Leafs are going to finish with more points than the Sabres…
another 180lb. European?
they dont deserve to make the playoffs if they keep playing like they did last night
Yeah, mortgage your future for a slim shot at the playoffs this year. With Campbell do you think the Sabres had a shot at the cup? Same guy who has been here all year while the Sabres hovered around 8th place. If you’re being honest with yourself you know they didn’t have much a shot.
So holding on to him to help you in the playoffs knowing there is almost no chance you’re keeping him next year is stupid. You take what you can get, which was a big forward and a 1st round pick, and hope you can fix this team up in the off season.
What I’d like them have done was just paid him. Tell Tommy boy to stop blowing money on running for various political positions as an independent, because independents never win, and use that money to spend up to the cap. If we spent to the cap we could afford to keep Campbell and still have money left to pick up some other skilled players. That’s in an ideal world though, where your owner isn’t a tightwad businessman, and it’s clearly not the world the Sabres live in.
^^ agreed, they have been too streaky this year, and the bad streaks have stuck out pretty clearly.
1st round pick and some off season dealing can bring us back to a better position, but at this point in time I dont think I would like to see them make the playoffs, it might just be a waste of time UNLESS someone can step up and be a leader and get some motivation back in this team, theyve looked lifeless the last few games
Just got handed a pair of tix to tomorrow’s game. Sec 116 row 10 bitches. Free tickets FTW. (Thank you Mr. Wilson)
And can we finally slap the C on someone’s jersey next year and leave it there? This rotating captaincy thing isn’t working. This team needs a consistent leader.
+1. You have to put someone in charge and let them keep the team in line.
Not like anyone around here cares anymore, but Tampa is up on Boston 2-0 at the end of the 2nd. That’s the only game that’s relatively important to Buffalo.
Go Slackers…errrr Sabres!
Edit- Boston lost 3-1.
UP for possible Pominville possessions on the D tonight…
