I went, I got pix, seats were awesome…
Yeah, why would they cover Crosby. He’s only leading the league in assists, setup the opening goal, and scored the game winner. And lets not forget that crazy three tap keep the puck in the air while skating through three Buffalo players move.
Awww, the Buffalo fans didn’t have Rick and the and senile old man riding the Sabres sack all game, where nothing is ever a good call when it’s against the Sabres and every single hit the Sabres take is the most egregious cheap shot they’ve ever seen.
Fine, the NBC guys weren’t great, but they weren’t that bad. There was “Mark Guastad”, and I head something about the people in “Boston still celebrating”, but we get this every time a game is on NBC. Buffalo fans are spoiled because Rick’s play calling is meant for people listening to the game on the radio so he has to call every single second of the game. Rarely do TV broadcasters do this.
Overall, I think it was good for the league, great for WNY, and the players enjoyed it. When the league does it again I bet they come up with a better way for making spot ice repairs, something like a big tank of liquid nitrogen to flash freeze the repair. Maybe invest a little more in the cooling system and have 4 zamboni’s instead of 2. Basically it went very well though and I’d be willing to bet we will see the NHL try this again next year.
Ok i’ll toss some pics up for you hardcore fans. If you guys clean them up would you mind sending the edited ones to me?
These photos are from on the roof, right under the Bud sign on top of the Seneca Club.
AND FOR THE DIEHARD FANS
I beat all of you to the game. Taken at 6:00 am.
awesome pics
Holy crap! It’s Dale Hawerchuck, Randy Wood, and Pierre Turgeon! Roy’s number looks like 77 there, and Connolly’s could almost be 89 (Mogilny) if you squint.
for everyone complaining so much about nbc, thats your own damn fault for not putting cbc on wheres your head at? you KNEW if you watched it on nbc all they’d talk about is crosby and take shots at buffalo, which is exactly what it sounds like they did from the responses i’m seeing on here. the game itself was good, i thought we outplayed them completely in the 2nd and 3rd periods, just couldn’t put anything in the net. the conditions weren’t perfect, but all in all i’d say it was a pretty successful job by the crew maintaining the ice, and i’d like to see it happen again.
at the arena, we were able to watch it in HD goodness and listen to rick at the same time
i thought it was neat to watch and i hope they do it again.
im glad i recorded it on dvd so i can watch it again tomorrow without retarded kids sitting next to me talking.
They already used something like this during the game, you didnt see the big yellow tank?
1.the tailgate party was INSANE!!!
2.the 4 helicopter fly over gave me the chills/goosebumps.
3.the game sucked+my seats were 19 rows up and i found myself looking at the scoreboard to watch the game.
It was COLD!
Say what you will about NBC and the crosby nuthugging that took place long before the game started I enjoyed the true story of olgie otlethorpe.
You might not want to send those pics all over the place btw :picard:
I personally could careless…I know people have got in a lot of shit and also fired for taking pics of locker rooms and shit and sending them around…
I don’t know if anyone would care but I know that is the normal policy…
Nothing will happen. Thanks for looking out though.
I loved the hole game… but they should have done a better job on the hole set up of the ice… and stoping every 5 mins was not cool it is pond hockey that is how it goes play on…
