I hear that Forsberg is coming back and available for really cheap…anyone want to elaborate on that one? I know we don’t really need him but come on it Forsberg a veteran player that rocked.
Pretty good win last night…div win is good even though the Islanders are at the bottom…but I’ll take it. I finally got to go to a game we won this year…i’ve been to like 7 and i think this is only the 2nd win I saw. The entire team looked good, Whitney looked sweet, Malone was doing everything, Staal looked like he had some confidnece and looked good, Letang is looking like a stud, Big George was laying dudes out, Talbot beats pussy’s ass, overall very good game.
yeah that was a good win last night. That is one thing we have not done well this year. Win those one goal divisional games. We just need to stay above water until sid gets back then im thinking come on strong at the end.
On another note did anyone see the hit-hit-knockout in the Coyotes game? It was sick. Barry loved it. Basically Weller checked one guy into the boards hard. Then someone came after him fast and he checked him hard. Then Tollefson came in skating hard and right before he got there Weller dropped his gloves and knocked him the fuck out. It was a hockey move and a half.
The Coyotes’ Craig Weller received a match penalty in the first period for intent to injure Ole-Kristian Tollefsen in a fight. During the altercation, Tollefsen sustained a hard shot to the head and did not return.
i agree about the divisional game. that was a good win.
i dont know if i agree with the ‘tread water’ statement. Sid isnt this whole team and people are producing w/o him. the offense hasnt really dropped off without him. id like to think its just the team continueing to play hard, rather than everyone ‘treading water’ and awaiting Sid’s return. although, it will be nice to have him back.
trade sid, we dont need him anymore
I say trade Sidney Crosby to atlanta for Mark Recchi
the only problem w/that is we would have to give up Malkin too…not too bad though we have Beech now.
:bigthumb: :weak:
beech is our #1 center no doubt
A good weekend of Wins. The team is looking pretty healthy and the Sens are losing steam. #1 seed anyone?
I second that one. Go pens #1 in conference is in sight. Malkin needs to keep up the points. This season looks great.
Some big/difficult decisions to be made. Fleury is on the Baby Pens for conditioning…so he will be back soon, Crosby will be back by early next month.
So who do you go with in net? Conklin is playing awesome…lead the league in Save%…but Fleury is your #1 guy. I say have Fleury as your backup until Conklin’s play drops…then hopefully Fleury will be back up to speed for the playoffs.
As for Crosby…our #1 and #2 lines are so insane now. You CANNOT break up the Malkin/Sykora/Malone line, they click so good it does not need to be touched at all. So who do you put with Crosby? Do you break up the #2 line that is clicking and put two of those guys on there? Do you package a few guys for the trade deadline? If so then who? These are some big decisions to be made. I would hate to be Shero right now.
stahl, crosby, talbot???
i say you gotta keep conklin in while he’s hot… let fleury have a little time on the bench.
I was thinking the same thing…or even Christensen…he has been playing really well lately. But wouldnt you want more talent with Crosby…tough calls to make.
fluery is off his game wayyyy too easy. leave him on the bench.
I’d say leave Conklin in as long as he’s hot. When he’s not, then alternate between him and Fleury. I think Sabourin needs to goto WBS or else possible trade material. We’ve got too much invested in Fleury I think to get rid of him, and I don’t think he has much trade value.
Malkin/Malone/Sykora. It almost feels like the Lang/Straka/Kovalev line from 00-01. But then agin, who flanks Crosby on the top line… I think Shero may want to look into a top 6 winger by the trade deadline for a 1-2 punch going to the playoffs.
Sabourin cant go to wbs w/o pasing through aivers, thats the only problem. thats how we lost him last time, so it would be bad to lose him for nothing, so maybe a trade involving one of our goalies is in order. i think Conklin has earned the right to keep playing, even if he splits duties with fleury when he comes back. regardless of what we have invested in fleury, i think simply throwing him back into a #1 position and not playing Ty is out of the question. 50/50 might work though, utilizing the 2 guys. its unfortunate the Sabu will probly be the odd guy out, somehow because hes such a solid backup.
i think the top line right now is insane and it seems that malkin and sykora work better than malkin/crosby (which he was originally brought in for). plus malone seems to be playin solid aswell. i guess crosby would play well with staal and erik (or max) but just because its crosby, im sure they’ll break up malkins current line and insert crosby somehow… as much as i dont want that to happen.
I guess time will tell for both “issues”, come early march both should be back and the trade deadline is Feb 26th.
On a side note Pens are 15-3-3 in their past 21 games.
Awesome article in the post today about Malone
