i vote conklin as starter fluery as back up and pray to god when we have to send sabo down to the minors no one picks him up off waivers…
i dunno. i would say that fleury has alittle better movement and athleticism and maybe has more ‘flash’ to him in terms of his style of play and name-value, but there are alot of things Ty does that fleury doesnt. for example, its obvious that conklin is alot better at playing the puck and coming out of the net. in fact, marc is very bad at it. i think ty plays angles just fine and plays a style similar to broduer (as far as how he drops down and at what points. also, he tends to flop here and there but it seems to work). they are just different. i realize conklin hasnt had a great career to look back on or anything but its not like fleury has developed anywhere near what he was expected to be. and this season does count, how doesnt it? there are always flash in the pan players, but when someone is playing well, then you cant throw them to the side just because they werent some sought-after draft pick or up and coming prospect.
Thats where it becomes difficult… at the end of the season who knows whats going to happen I believe fluerys contract is up after this season? Conklin was only signed for one year with a 2 way contract and sabourin Im not 100% on but hes definately a solid backup and has proven to be a NHL caliber goalie.
Who knows who will start in the playoffs how it will end up if conklin does better than fluery if fluery does better than conklin who knows really, but grant it fluerys age and his potenial / skill I dont think well end up giving him up… I do know that Conklin always finds a way to screw up in the playoffs… tsk tsk Edmonton vs carolina…
x 2. Fleury is more flashy but T Conk is more of a solid goalie. This year… Now years past and the future idk…
Did anybody see Alex O and the Caps get busy on the bruins tonight? He took over the point lead. Next sunday should be an interesting game.
damn, they scored 10? lol. what was it like a 5pt night for Ovechkin…with HT in that. you know Gino dont like that shit. i hope he can reclaim the lead tomm.
I’ll say the got busy on the Bruins… Damn.
Fedorov didn’t play a part in any of those points.
Damn…looks like Geno has to man the fuck up and have a big night.
Sid back tonight. on a line with Dupois and Talbot. so i guess that means no Hossa yet. im glad they didnt separate Malkins line.
Link? From what I read they said Sunday.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby is coming back from an ankle injury and will play against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night.
Crosby, out since Jan. 18, unexpectedly took part in the team’s pregame skate. Crosby, last season’s NHL scoring champion and Most Valuable Player, was injured when his right skate slammed hard into the rear boards during the Lightning-Penguins game in Pittsburgh more than six weeks ago and hasn’t played since.
He had not taken part in a full practice since Feb. 18 and it was not anticipated he would play until Sunday in Washington at the earliest.
I will say right now Sid will finish with at least 90 points this year.
Crosby will probably only see about 10 minutes of ice time I would imagine. He showed up unexpectedly for the team practice the paper said.
I bet he plays more than that. The reason he waited so long was to be 100%.
now all we need is Hossa to return! going to be a good game tonight
I just saw the highlights for the game and Crosby looked like a man on a mission. He played 22 minutes of that game and He looked 110% last night. He got one point on a sweet pass that got a little lucky. The pens should start playing rather well now that Sid is back and then when Hossa returns…Damn!!! that’s all I have to say.
Overall Sid was pretty damn good considering a 21 game layoff. He was prob the best player out there. I really like Talbot on that line, this kid can play on any line and be effective. He hussles and you put him with Sid and it is fun to watch. It is going to be crazy when Hossa returns. Other teams will bo going crazy on trying to defend on us…if they focus on the Crosby line then the Malkin line will be on next…fuck I can’t wait. Hopefull yit will be this Sunday, so Sid and Geno can both grabs their cocks to Ovechkin.
talbot wont stay on that line… unless staal is out for a couple of games.it will be malone malkin sykora, hossa crosby dupuis, talbot staal kennedy, rutuu taffe laraque, the only change i would say maybe talbot and dupuis… and in net??? i still think conklin will be our #1 guy going into playoffs… but if the flower can keep up his play last night then we r looking good come playoffs
We’re gonna be stacked up going into the playoffs.
I agree…but I think you can swap talbot and Staal. I actually like Talbot better rthan Staal with Crosby. Talbot is explosive and pretty fast, somewhat similar to Crosby, where Staal is somewhat the opposite, he uses his reach and is a little more smooth. I thought they liked having 3 skilled centers too…but you know how Therrien is with switching lines. When Hossa comes back I would say maybe Talbot over Dupuis??? Talbot is a little more well rounded, but Dupuis is pretty damn good too. It will be interesting either way. For Goalie…we have a good problem. Fleury seems to have his game together, Conklin seems like he cooled down slightly. But you can’t write off Conklin considering he was due to have a game that wasn’t amazing. I am sure he will be fine. I say just play whoever is hot and then once one seems to be slipping I am sure the other will be good enough to step in. Come playoffs though it will be interesting, I would think they would commit to one guy…but if whoever they pick is playing like turds then I would switch them.
Yeah Sid looked good. You know he was going to play more than 10 minutes. We had a good game in net also. Both Goalies made some stunning saves. And each team hit the posts a few times. As far as who plays with sid, I think it should be Talbot for the time being (2 goals in 2 games). But there were a few times when Dupois was playing with Sid and they had some good passing going on. Lets just hope people stay healthy. I also really like Conor James. I think next year the kid might be up in the NHL.
