Official 07-08 Penguins Thread

^x2. Henrik Lundqvist played a hell of a game, I will say that

GO PENS!!!

Big game tonight!

To win 7 in a row would be huge. It is going to be a tough game tonight. The first two could have went to OT if a call or bounce doesnt go our way.

I heard Lundvquist said “we are going to put more pressure…and we will win”. They know it is a huge game for them and I expect to see the best of the rangers in this game. Also, I heard Sid was talking about how Avery was slashing his wrist at the end of the first…said not sure if he was trying to injure him, but he knew it was intentional and he was at least trying to let him know he was there. Maybe Graves gave Avery some pointers…but we all know how that worked out for the Rangers.

Edit: here is the quote From Lundvquist

“We know we can put more pressure on them. We’re going to do that in New York, and we’re going to get the win.” –

Here is Crosby’s

“He wasn’t going for the puck,” Crosby said. “He was going for my wrist.” …Obviously, he was trying to make me feel it a bit," he said. “I don’t know if it was a direct intent to hurt me or anything. … I guess he was just letting me know that he’s there.”

i cant wait for the game 2night

I’m so glad that it will be on FSN instead of VS, I can actually watch this one.

id rather it was on verses so it is in HD

i hate the versus announcers.hopefully they will do it in HD

Steps to watch the pens game

  1. Put on VS HD and surround sound
  2. Put Mike Lange on the radio
  3. Sync DVR to Radio Delay
  4. Get boner and enjoy the game in HD with a hall of fame announcer!

nice

Although Mike Emrick or Darren Pang are pretty good to listen to, the other ones all suck!

itr was on fsn hd tonight so it was all good.it was a great game tonight we got outworked in the 2nd period but another great timeout call by therian and we regrouped.tonight was the probably the last game of the year on FSN cause there isnt gonna be a game 6.i got the broom ready anyone else?

It was a great timeout call by coach. Our D wasn’t that good tonight. We were getting all caught up by their cycling. But we won and I’m on cloud 9. I would love a sweep but idk…

Agreed, our D looked decent at times but there were some lapses. Seemed pretty decent after the timeout.

Averall insane game, even laraque got into the scoring!! Pretty neat to see Malking and Jagr to get into it…Marc Staal laying out Jordan Staal…Geno running shit…Crosby schooling fools…too much to talk about. If we go 8-0 it will be sooo crazy…Oh yeah…that’s what Lundqvist gets for saying they will win that game…5 goals on 17 shots, that’s a 70.59 save %…haha

Why didn’t I think of the dvr sync … That will save me for the rest of the playoffs since there isn’t anymore games on fsn for whatever reason

Does that mean that the rest of the games will be on VS and NBC? I might need to sign up for VS just for a month so that I can watch the rest of the games.

I am pretty sure if there is a game 6 it will be on FSN…but if not then the rest of the games will be on VS or NBC. Figure next round will be only 2 sets of games left and they will play on different days…so VS can show every game, then I am pretty sure NBC will get weekend day games.

Looks like I am upgrading my packager to get VS…then downgrade after we win the…I mean when the playoff are over.

Talbot may have a broken foot…doent know if he can play yet. I say if not…then Hall as center and bring Uncle Gary back!!!

NEW YORK – Penguins center Max Talbot is believed to have broken his right foot blocking a shot during the Penguins’ 5-3 victory in Game 3 of their second-round playoff series against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden last night.

Talbot, one of several players hobbled after blocking shots last night, had his foot in a walking boot when he reported to the Garden for practice today.

Team officials declined to discuss the precise nature of Talbot’s injury, or his prognosis.

Talbot also declined to talk about it, but when asked if he expects to be able to play again – albeit not at a specific time – he responded simply, “I hope so.”

Talk about karma…Avery out for the season!!!

NY Ranger Avery Hospitalized With Lacerated Spleen
Report: Star Forward Was Unconscious, Not Breathing, Following Rangers’ Playoff Game Last Night
NEW YORK (AP) ― New York Rangers forward Sean Avery has been hospitalized after lacerating his spleen during a playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

In a statement Wednesday, the team said the noted agitator was taken to St. Vincent’s hospital after New York’s 5-3 loss Tuesday night and was admitted following a CT scan.

Avery will be sidelined for the remainder of the season, the Rangers said, but is expected to make a full recovery.

The Daily News first reported on its Web site Wednesday morning that Avery was taken to the hospital in cardiac arrest. The newspaper said the 28-year-old was unconscious and not breathing when he was taken to the medical center. He arrived about 3 a.m. Wednesday, a person at the hospital told the newspaper.

The Rangers trail the Penguins 3-0 in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series with Game 4 scheduled for Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.

Avery had an assist on the Rangers’ second goal in Tuesday night’s game

Elisha Cuthbert musta been going at it with the strap on and hit the soft spot :kekegay:

“in a great deal of pain” just sounds great when you talk about avery…

fleury looked pretty solid last night again. yes our d was poor on the rush but they definitely got in front of a lot of shots and passes. our passing in the offensive zone was great too.
