The Sabres traded T.J. Brennan (a 2nd round draft pick and a RFA at the end of the season) to Florida for a 5th round draft pick. Fire Regier Fire Regier Fire Regier Fire Regier Fire Regier Fire Regier Fire Regier
Saw this last night what a joke. Regiers a moron and needs to be canned. What a useless trade and I would of rather seen brennen leave on waivers than get traded for a pick well never use.
I’ve been saying that all along. Put him out there with some talent around him and he would do fine, not Gerbe and Hecht. Although he does dominate at that lvl I believe with a little more time to mature he can turn into that type of player in the NHL. Brad Boyes is on the top line on the islanders and has some decent stats, its all about who you play with.
On another note it was nice to see our 1st round pick from 2010 mark Pysyk play last night. I thought he had a solid first game, had a shot on net and made some real solid defensive plays. It kind of makes sense why they moved Brennan to make some room for him but I probably would have started with some different D.
Wait… so we wasted our 2nd round pick on someone we wont use, all for a 5th round pick for coming up. Maybe we should do better scouting before deciding the players we want to make sure they fit the team well. Not just hear a name and pick a player.
It happens all the time, you can’t guarantee the player you get in the draft whether it be first or last, is going to amount to anything. How many players do we draft that don’t even make the NHL rosters? I’m really not all that upset about Brennan. He was alright, but not great. Maybe he’ll work with FLA.
That I understand, but a 2nd round draft pick is something on its own. You tell me which team doesnt take advantage of the 1st,2nd, 3rd picks… those are usually the hot picks that become superstars. You have a select amount of guys that show up every year for drafts to which atleast 5 of those guys are going to be stand alone absolutely fantastic players. Picking like an 8round, thats different.
Enroth is not starting goaltender caliber. Hackett will certainly shake things up down in Rochester though, our other two younger goalie prospects have not had great seasons thus far in the minors.
