nope…you need to get the device that is best FOR YOU… not what is best for nerds, hipsters, cool-aid drinkers, it pros…YOU CHOOSE based on your own criteria.
it hurts me to even think about buying an iDevice… This will be my first Apple purchase if I do. I pride myself on never buying Apple…
That’s really stupid…to pride yourself on not buying a brand, just based on your perception of owners. You realize how dumb that makes you sound, right?
Its not the owners, its the company. The owners annoy me, but not all of them. Hell I am marrying one…
Edit: You could argue that Google is a terrible company too, and so on… so I guess you are right… it’s all stupid and pointless…
Edit2: Crap! iPhone doesn’t have turn by turn navigation… gah!
I will probably get used to a bigger phone right?
I’d check out the Razr Maxx before you switch, if you’re really against apple products. Spam has one and the battery life is great. It’s 2.3 right now but ICS is coming down the peak and should be available before summer.
This guy knows what’s up!
I have to agree with a lot of these points. I’m not a big fan of the huge phone trend and couldn’t believe I was even slightly considering an Iphone. Lack of 4g was a turn-off though. Ended up with a razr maxx and while its huge it still fits great in my pocket and the battery is awesome.
yep, no turn-by-turn google maps nav like on android… And yeah, lack of 4G LTE is the deal breaker.
No that is not it, it is very easy to develop for different versions, if anything I would say its due there being so many different phones where as apple only has one. easier to develop for one phone than 30
I want to know why most everything in Android is request driven vs push notifications. Clearly the iPhone setup is easier to work with for push or something because Facebook, Zynga and other apps are all push with iPhone and request on Android… Anyone know why?
BTW: I ordered another Nexus today… I am just going to “rough” it and deal with it being “too big”.
I love my Nexus, and I have an otterbox case on mine so it’s even bigger. I have no issues with it. I do wish I had the car dock though.
Before reading through 2300 posts…
Can I use my original(It’s like 2+ years old) Motorola Droid as a “hot spot” type thing? I would like to be able to access the internet with my lap top.
Thanks.
with PDAnet you can. Unless you no longer have a data plan with the phone, in which case you’d need to connect the phone wirelessly and tether that way.
I just downloaded an app call FoxFi that allows me to use my Droid X2 as a hot spot without paying the hot spot fees. Works pretty well actually, and it’s free!
Shoulda bought it from me, I have them in stock.
Could you get it to me brand new for $230?
because android developers either dont know about it or didnt implement it. push notifications are sort of new in android and not many people know there is an API that google created that does push notification. it is used in the gamil app to notify when you have a new email. I have looked at google’s push notifications and it does not look hard at all so the only reason for it not being implemented is people must not know about it
Darn, doesn’t work on my phone. I would try PDAnet if I knew what that was. lol
