Agreed, it should work right out of the box. Like my Nexus and it’s shitty battery life. I almost never use 4G because it destroys the battery. I’m almost leaning towards a bad battery. Charging that much is ridiculous, unless you are hammering data on 4G. Pandora going all the time? Constantly on FB/Twitter sending texts all day or numerous long phone calls?
He doesn’t have a bad battery. Look at the chart, Android OS using up 77% of battery usage. Android OS is running some process that is hammering the device.
Android OS should be at the bottom of the battery usage list. It should never being using up that many cycles. Android OS is at 13% right now on my device. I’ve seen it as high as 30-40% but that is when I know something is wrong. More than likely a factory reset will fix whatever is doing that.
I’m not in love with the battery life on my nexus, but I have the luxury of working at a desk all day, and I have a 35 minutes commute, so my phone gets put on a charger quite frequently. My office also happens to be a dead zone, so it’s typical that cell standby drains my phone in a few hours if it’s in my pocket while in my office. If I place it on the far edge of the desk, I’ll get service and battery usage is more normal.
Get an iPhone? lol
Actually mine isn’t much better but I have one of those charging bricks with me all the time.
I was streaming Pandora at the beach the other day for hours and an iPhone owner was shocked that my phone was lasting as long as it did. So I’m not convinced that the iPhone is any better. And that’s with 3g, obviously the iphone doesn’t do 4g data.

i dont believe it to be the battery, i really think something is fucked. ive had to reboot every 3 mins since I got to work. backing shit up was a process.
lol I never backup anything when I wipe the phone…nothing on there worth saving. My pics are synced with Google+ and with Photobucket. Anything else I can just redownload. NBD.
I just bought a cheap set of logitech speakers for my phone to jam pandora while I’m illing and grilling. Now I just need a chair.
I’m still on my original Galaxy S, currently running CM9 (ice cream sandwich)…phone is great on this rom but I think my battery is crapping out…battery life has progressively worsened.
CM10 is in development now, so I might even be able to get this thing onto jellybean within the month! :rockon:

also have you downloaded any apps recently? maybe an app has runaway wakelocks due to bad coding
ive wiped it twice today. I’m letting it sit to fully charge without loading any apps on it to see what happens.

and no, i dont recall downloading anything new recently.
I kept it from auto-downloading any apps this second time around. havent downloaded anything yet but twitter and a clock/weather widget. going stong now.
Just got the ICS installed on my rezound yesterday and its so much smoother. I also get a decent jump in battery life 
time to go figure out which app killed your phone. start adding them back in small batches and watch the performance
I am actually thinking it has something to do with the SD card. Realized last night that I had run all day without it, put it in before bed, woke up to 77% android OS usage again.
Pulled it and im at 61% now, gonna try a wipe and see where it gets me.

don’t think so. that wasn’t native to android until ICS. So unless you root, you’re more than likely out of luck.

Fuck it. I’ve wiped it 5 times, its still goin nuts. Thankfully Moto’s warranty process is pretty easy.
