Installed swiftkey trial and after 5 minutes paying with it I paid the $4 for the full version.
Fry, I owe you a beer. That keyboard was the last major issue I had with this conversion from iOS.

Need updates on battery life!
Turned off haptic feedback. Wifi, LTE and location services left enabled, BT off since my damn headset never seems to be charged when I need it anyway. Light texting, surfing, playing with this new keyboard and some other settings plus a few short phone calls with speakerphone and I’m at 82%. Auto-brightness disabled until I can apply the hack that makes it several levels brighter. I’m running it at probably 85% brightness right now.
Look into tasker…it’s $6 but it works very nicely to pretty much automate the shit out of your phone. If you’re real good (which admittingly I am not) with it, you can really get creative with the stuff.
I can help with tasker, its pretty boss. I consider myself to be pretty decent at it.
I did this exact same thing. Well worth it. Play with settings when you’re done and look at the heat map… The fact that it keeps all those stats is pretty cool Imo
I like the stock keyboard personally and I like the stock messenger on JB and I like the stock gmail email client. /shrug
Edit: downloading swiftkey to see the hype

Oh, this is fun!
I hate the stock GS3 keyboard’s trace type. It doesn’t work. But legit Swype is still my favorite virtual keyboard. It works really well and it’s faster than I can type even on swiftkey.
Try it for yourself. Sign up for an account at beta.swype.com and download/install it. I think it’s got a learning dictionary just like swiftkey so give it a little time for accuracy to improve.
I just got around to intalling it on the GS3. I loved it on my DX. We’ll see how this goes. First 10 seconds with it are all sorts of laggy. :eyebrow:
Disabling popup on keypress helped a lot. Beta software. The gift and the curse of android.
Hmm I guess I can be part of this since my Samsung galaxy 2 7" table comes today!
What are you going to do with a 7" table, have a little dinner party for your dolls?
I use TouchPal keyboard on my S3, its swype is tons more accurate then the stock one, I’m totally sold on the speed of swype. Also find that Go SMS Pro is way better than the stock text message program.
Bahhahaha good catch, 7" tablet is what I ment, and yea I guess I can bust out the GIJoes. LOL
fixed.
Edit: I have always wanted to be “that guy”. Finally!
Trying out swift key now. Typically I use Swype.
swype beta
tasker
swing by swing golf
quadrant standard
afterfocus for pics
ebook droid
FFL
and NFL mobile are my apps i use the most
TSI, how do I disable a profile in tasker if another specific tasker is running? I thought I had it setup…I was wrong.
why are you paying for apps?

Oh, and get Google Now it is amazing. Its like Siri except I never have to ask it anything because it just knows what I want to know.
Are you running JB Rom?, I thought you can only get Now with that?, looks awesome and i want it
Trying SwiftKey now. So far so good. Not phenomenal auto correct but hopefully it will learn well.
Root, install ICS rom, flash google now zip file, profit.
I’m currently running it on my Droid razr maxx, google now is awesome.
I’ve always run the stock text message deal, what’s so great/different about others?
