Official Android thread

I tried swiftkey on my phone but it didn’t work. I think maybe it’s because I have an actual slide-out keyboard? (Galaxy S/“epic 4g” running CM10 jellybean)

The new Gmail app is finally out for JellyBean users as well. Among the features is auto-fit message to screen and the complementing pinch-to-zoom. It’s been a long time coming for that feature.

Finally! One less thing I will miss about iOS. So annoying scrolling through my buy.com sale email and having to scroll left/right constantly.

Guess this is a downside to auto-update and not paying attention to what the update did. I didn’t even realize we had this feature. to actually talking about a cool new Android feature in the Android thread for once.

LOL

Note though, that you have to enable it in gmail settings.

I have been waiting for this. Finally my 5" screen gets some use for my email.

I’m glad I came here and read or I wouldn’t have known.

Enabled right after I saw your post. Well, I after I saw it, tried it and it didn’t work. Went into settings and saw the option. Works perfect, just what the iOS mail app has done by default since oh forever.

Mine must have auto update ?! Enabled the setting and it is, oh so nice.

yeah it’s hard to believe that it took so long

im using swiftkey beta on my dinc and its nice. i prefer the google keyboard but i dont have 4.2 jbs

swiftkey 3 here. So much better than stock droid keyboard. Swiftkey3 > ios keyboard > smoke signals > stock android keyboard.

The actual stock android keyboard isn’t bad. It’s the one Samsung put on the GS3 as part of touchwiz that is almost unusable.

swiftkey 3 is the only app ive ever paid for.

Didn’t realize it was Samsung who bastardized my “stock” keyboard.

I bought it too, spent $3 on Torque, & a quarter for Edmundo. I’m a big spender.

Swiftkey seems to better predict words and its number keypad layout is nice. Also love how exclamation and question marks work.

Is anyone experiencing issues were tracked packages in gmail don’t show up in Google now? Do you need to leave the items in your inbox? I’ve tried that and they still don’t show

Google decides which packages are important lol

I don’t know this happened to me a I had 3 things ship and 1 showed up.

They probably could figure out which packages are important to you based on how many times you access the email and manually click the link.

Fuck, that’s scary.

gmail auto fit is fantastic, I also use swiftkey

trying to type a URL in a message is REALLY fucking annoying in swiftkey.

I don’t troll all the Android news/forums like some of you has anyone heard rumors of when the Nexus 4 will be back in stock?

I’m going to flip flop ditch my Nexus 7 tablet for a iPad Mini and swap my 4S for a Nexus 4.
