It will be a very limited use phone. Time can only tell what this droid will do however. Will we be able to create our own apps with ease? Download music, movies, tv shows etc with ease? Probably not. Like I said, they are marketing this for the corporate crowd more than the average user. I could be wrong…if I am I dont really care either way. I’ll probably get one myself sometime down the road.
I’m not arguing that it isnt ridic, but you were singling out the droid earlier…
edit: of course, people don’t realize how much these things actually cost. they would be better off putting in a 180 day clause, saying that if you cancel within 180 days, you need to pay the remaining term fee and the difference in cost from what you paid on subsidy to what it would have cost full retail…
Iphone is a great phone. Is it going to blow this out of the water? Impossible, as it has the support of Google behind it. Google is MS of the 90s. Google will throw money at it, and it will have world wide acceptance, and probably sooner than later, dependence. Developers are at what, 10K apps, and the G1, a SINGLE SINGLE PHONE on a SINGLE CARRIER has pulled that much attention…?
Anything and everything on the iPhone = better than this phone? How the hell do you know that? You’re a sackrider extroidanaire. “This phone hasn’t even come out, but I know it sucks because it’s not the iPhone.” Oh hey, how’s that replacement battery when your shit dies? Ohhh and hello MMS, I know you guys have it, but welcome to 2002. Don’t even get me started.
A Blackberry is a limited use phone? At this point in time, anything you say from now on will be taken with a grain of salt. Please explain to me what “limited use phone” is. Ready… Go.
I’m not humping the Android, but if you actually read up on the OS (and not just some fucking engadget blog), you’d realize the potential that this has.
The thing I love about iphone humpers is the fact that the iphone has the shittiest call quality. It’s also gay to text on. I’ve owned 3 and they’re okay.
The G1 i owned was awesome it was a durable phone and the fact that you could pull the battery and shit was worth it alone. The OS was awesome, its’ a shame HTC couldn’t deliver the G1 with more ram otherwise it could have slayed the iphone right there.
i’ve heard this a lot… That the Iphone is absolutely wonderful, unless you want to make a call. Granted that could just be the service that carries it, but regardless.
I’m excited for Android, and I’ve only done minimal reading on it. Honestly, anything that gets rid of the horrible VZW OS crap is a-ok by me.
all of those things can be done with basic computer knowledge. if you cant do those things on a blackberry or android phone you dont need an iphone or any smartphone
I can, a co worker got one and makes me repeat everything like a million times since he got it. Still same service… the iphone is a fantastic toy with lots of fun gadgets and innovation but when it comes down to it being a phone… not so much.
