Might need to get the drivers and the android SDK
Saw this on HoFo, found it just about right.
Thanks Justin worked like a charm
My X with launcher pro was running like crap with atk going. I took it off yesterday and it runs so much better and the batter lasts so much longer.
Yeah task killers are kinda obsolete now…Please do NOT use auto-kill or your battery gets raped.
Last night I downloaded the latest OTA update and did a soft reset…
I also deleted the task killer to see if the battery life would increase
My phone was taken off the charger at 9am and it was at 9% by 5 pm… I didnt use the phone for more than 10 minutes today…
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!?!?!
any ideas… btw, its an EVO 4g
Whats the screens brightness? How many mail accounts do you have? How often do they sync?
Ok… i turned brightness down last night, so that should have if anything given me more juice… One mail account, and i turned off the youtube syncing too, and my gmail syncs at the same intervals as before… it just doesnt make sense… i downloaded a bunch of stupid apps (like a heartbeat monitor) but they’re all uninstalled now…
This sucks lol.
If you look under battery what does it say is using it all up? Do you keep GPS sync on?
gps sync or the antenna? all extra antennas including bluetooth were off… i’m going to check battery status tomorrow or maybe reload a task killer and see if any of the new apps are running in the back ground.

25% EACH for Idle, android, and standby… then 10-12% for maps and display , leaving a miserable 2% phone calls
i cant remember if this was posted on here or not but i would suggest downloading the app “watchdog” basically it monitors all your apps and alerts you if one is getting out of hand for some reason and needs to be stopped.
also have you restarted your phone lately?
this is why you should not use ATK’s if you have froyo (2.2) installed
I have a Droid X and after 2.2 it bogged down like crazy. I uninstalled all of those “wow, look how many apps I have” apps, and it smoothed right out.
To save battery life, I also keep the three ON/OFF buttons on my main screen for GPS/WiFi/BT. I usually keep my BT on now, since my car has BT hands free, but I keep my GPS off until I actually need it.
I also got rid of my weather app that updates constantly on the screen, changed my gmail app to notify only once and thats about all I needed.
I also love the size of the phone. There are two guys at the office who have the incredibles and when we put them side by side, the X is only about 1/4" longer. The incredible has so much wasted space on it’s face that could be screen… and it’s not even that much smaller.
I do have the annoying SMS messaging bug that happened when it switched to 2.2. Hopefully this 2.3 update fixes that… but, my System Update isn’t showing it yet. sigh
I recommend the X
My battery can last for two days with a lot of usage and browsing. Can’t go wrong with that.
OH… and ANGRY BIRDS. the large screen makes it so much more enjoyable than playing on the smaller screen of the Incridible. I tried it on both. Games are a lot better on a bigger screen (obviously)
thats is because 2.3 aka Gingerbread has not been released yet lol. motorola probably wont get that out until 3 months after it is released
Droid X has some 2.3 update out that is a Froyo bugfix build. It’s not Android 2.3…confusing, yes
Droid X can pull updates though, you shouldn’t need to wait for it. I would go into the system menu and force it to check for update.
For SMS I use handcent, it works wonderfully and is completely customizeable

Is this the “system version” under settings/about phone?
My system version is 2.3.15.MB810
With Droid 2.2
Kernel version 2.6.32.9
yep, system version
yep the droid X’s should have gotten the 2.3 update, which as mentioned above is NOT gingerbread. The nexus one will be getting that first, possibly this week.
The link Tuner posted about taskkillers is somewhat true, although apps would restart themselves in 2.1 and task killers would also kill critical services like Alarm clocks, calanders, etc. It’s not new with 2.2
<EDIT>
New angry birds update…45 more levels and fixed some graphical issues.
My battery is still sucking big time… wtf.
