my vzw curve has none of that BS on it
Slydial works like a charm. I wish I had this app during my last two relationships!
You can dial peoples voicemail directly from your own voicemail (I used to do it all the time on my Verizon line).
You have to delete the .cod files for them. The best guide for setting up your blackberry and getting rid of useless shit is http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-blackberry-discussion/112029-losing-call-logs-sms-emails-optimize-your-bb-how-setup-max-free-memory.html
I used to use desktop manager but since i put on google sync i just exported all of them from outlook to google with ease and it works just as well. Anyone not using BES should definitely give google sync a shot.
Verizon just sent me a replacement 8830, and I need to know how to get the internet working. When I got this phone a year ago there was some option I had to turn on and I can’t remeber where it is or what it was. Help me out I don’t feel like calling verizon!
um, need more info? data is automatic on BB’s with VZW. is there a specific feature of the phone that isnt working?
The little globe logo for the internet is hidden, and I can’t setup email forwarding to my phone via my gmail account.
edit: figured it out, options-advanced options-host routing table-bb menu key-register now. Had to do this even though it was already registered on the network.
Thank you! I don’t know how I missed that.
I wonder if that’s a Verizon thing… I’ll check that out, because I can delete slydial and save some space.
You can use desktop manager to sync…
yea, still dont want my work contacts in there.
sidenote: got my 8830 lit up yesterday. in the process of updating OS and such. anyone know of any translator programs? (english - spanish)
I heard OS 4.5 is out for the 8830. You loading that?
i went to do it last night, but there was some weird error with the installer. I’m going to play around with it more tonight.
Any idea if I can tell if I have GSM capability on here? Its a demo account given to me from VZW, so I’m not worried about charges, but I would like to make sure it has the capability. I dont really want to bug the Director that set it up for me about something this small, he’s already doing me a favor just by setting me up with it.
I’ve got a SIM card in it. I suppose I will just have to fly out and hope for the best.
Is there a way to force it into GSM mode in the options? That would tell you if it works.

You got it from here I suppose.
You can go to manually select network mode, it will show SOS, but if you’re lucky it will show signal strength.
Specs
Compare side-by-side vs…ModesCDMA 850 / CDMA 1900
GSM 900 / GSM 1800
domestic GSM modes are not supported
Ew. No domestic GSM? I didn’t know that. That kinda stinks. I guess the only way to find out is to get on a plane headed to another land!
Sunday
Heading to Barcelona for a week.
So i’m on a family plan with my mother, sister, etc…
I want to change plans to get on a family plan with my Fiancee
Is there a way to do that and be eligable for current phone deals? We would be signing a new contract for our family plan, so i’m not sure if that qualifys because we would both be moving from a different plan.
