Official Beer Thread

Did you have the Leinenkeugels kind? I didn’t detect any aftertaste, but, I did have my first beer of the day around 8:30am so who knows. I haven’t had Grapefruit Sculpin so I don’t know if that has an aftertaste or not.

Yep Lineys, wife picked it up as an experiment. Both of us are really into big beers, but it’s good to keep a stock of lawn mowing/frisbee beers around. We both had the same face about 10 seconds in.

Grapefruit Sculpin is the go-to canned boat beer though. That shit rocks.

21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon

That stuff is so much better on tap than it is canned imo. I had it at the Screamen Eagle/Matt’s Draft House up in Inlet, NY last summer and enjoyed it so i searched for some local and found it in cans and just did not enjoy it as much.

I had it in the can, was not impressed. Tasted like the tail end of chewing cheap watermelon gum. I’ll give it a shot on tap though

I tried Hell or High Watermelon and I couldn’t imagine drinking the whole can. It tasted like wheat and watermelon to me.

Big Ditch could be my favorite beer in the city from a brewer standpoint outside of Southern Tier. I love all theirs on tap there.

What is the recent surge of these sour beers? Some are ok for about 3 sips but wtf.

NO

YOUR OPINION IS WRONG

although the southerntier brewery is awesome! the nachos are so good. the beers are great. the tour is cool. the building is sweet! its like the only good thing about Jamestown!

CBW is great, but for volume Big Ditch is killing it. Hay Burner is one of my favorite local joints because it isn’t a hop bomb, its bright and citrusy, right up my alley.

I feel the same, but that’s kind of the point of that beer.

CBW An IPA and Big Ditch Hayburner are musts for locals…Low Bridge from Big Ditch is pretty damn delicious too.

I like CBW as their business model but I am not a fan of their beer. Them or Flying Bison I just can’t get into. Flying Bison is a step above Resurgence and tastes like it came straight from the Niagara River.

That I get but it just isn’t done as well as other flavored beers in my humble opinion.

Picked up a solid mix last night, stoked to give these a whirl!

Had a 32oz growler of this over the weekend:

Delicious

I had a Pinner and a Grunion last night. Both were great.

Left to right…
Never had, looks interesting
Never had
Solid session beer
Never had
Tasted it once, dumped the rest out
Excellent
Best beer out of Cleveland

All at once? I hope you were sitting.

Kona Fire Rock is one of my favorites.

I really enjoyed the Big Ditch Galaxy Red IPA.

Petrus Aged Ale, A Sour Ale but quite delicious, 7.3%, bought from premier cause they are the only ones who carry sours, and a hefty 18$ for a four pack…

My Left to Right:
Not a fan at all, not sure what struck me off on it but it just didn’t have what I expect from Ommegang
Kona used to be cool. Now it is Budweiser. I do still like their Koko Brown.
Dead Guy is solid and one of the few Rouge beers I will purchase
Crooked Tree is Awesome. I am also a big fan of their Scotty Karate. This may be the highlight of the bunch
Never had
Two hearted is a really good IPA. Try it against the crooked tree.
Lake Erie I have only had a few times and I am pretty sure I have enjoyed each one. I should buy it again for fun.

Should have had a 64. You would have woken up 2 days later!
