Looks like pretty long straight to only reach 70, no?
It depends on the car you’re driving. I’d imagine some people will get moving faster than that… but that turn will come up quickly.
why not set it up like this?
blue arrows are pit in
red arrows are pit out
yellow is obviously the course
since turn 2 has a gate that would act as the wall.
turn 3 does not have a gate so the current setup could lead into going head on into the edge of the wall right there or whatever way it is set up with a barrier.
there is a nice cool down section that you wont have to slow down a lot to exit the track. kinda just a continuation of that corner and you wont be a hazard to others if you are going off track to pit in the orientation below
just food for thought
I just realized Dunn tire is a 1/2 mile oval. I have driven Holland in the 4 cyl beaters at a work outing, but it is just 3/8 mile. 60-65 feels really fast in a junker, and even when the manager took us for pre laps in his new Maxima, when you get to the corner
It’s possible, but it’s going to depend on the what the setup the night before looked like and just how much stuff needs to be moved around. Last time the setup we used for drifting was the quickest thing we could do in the morning.
Also we wanted cars to drive along the strip right in front of the stands where people will be sitting and eating.
well there will be oval racing the night before most likely so the turn 1 wall will have jersey barriers extending it to the grandstand wall. so those would have to be moved in order to do the original plan
Yeah we’ll see how it looks when we’re there. Essentially the “kidney” shape of the track will stay the same though. I’m not sure which is better for lapping; lapping counter-clockwise vs. clockwise but we’ll find that out too.
BUMP! The date is locked in and we’re moving forward!
Some things to note:
- There are only 20 spaces for the unlimited food / beer / drinks so sign up before all are gone!
- Lapping is the same price as drifting was last year. Unfortunately we couldn’t decrease it since the track has raised the rate.
- We’re going to keep the final hour open for some sort of track shenanigans / mayhem…
 I may be lapping too. I get paid tomorrow I’ll register.
Out of curiosity, do we have to pre pay or can we pay the day of the event?
Pre-pay only for the unlimited food deal. I’m going to jack up the price for those who don’t pre-pay for the lapping, the amount by which if we’re in the red, it moves things into the black
Paid up bitches. Bring your pink slips.
So I’m going to smoke you in lap times now too?
You wanna piece of me !!! Bring it on White Cloud !!
Damn, you figured out my Indian name…
Back on topic:
Those who are lapping, we’re going to use the same handbook that we used for Dunnville back-in-the-day. Click this link to view it: http://www.onyxsyndicate.com/trackdayhandbook.pdf - Obviously the start times & other Dunnville specific things are irrelevant but the meat of what’s there still applies.
I should be in for this. I had a lot of fun last year
I’m in
I’ll definitely come hang out.
When is the deadline to pre-pay? Not sure when I will have my suspension in and if my car will get straightened beforehand…Fuuuuuuuuu.
Fuck I am in Rochester for a wedding that weekend.
I haven’t set a pre-pay deadline for the food package because it will sell out I’m sure. As for the lapping, I’ll likely make that a few weeks before the event date. This meet is a ways off at the moment but it will sneak up on us… Get your car done!
