^ Yeah someone traced the route on Run Keeper and it shows it as 3.6mi.
My endomuodo said 3.56 miles…my endo and official time were surprisingly close
I am running there tomorrow morning for the Komen “5k”, same deal if I am not mistaken, 3.5-3.6, some nice times coming across this board
28:35. Meh.
I’m no runner by any stretch. I went to hang out. But, it was a good time.
I think next year I may try this new fad, yogging.
No, I work in EA at Astronics. We make Airplane stuff and blinky lights.
I’m doing the St Gregs run Friday night in Amherst. Anybody else going to that one?
About 25:30. Not bad considering my training for the last ~14 months consisted of two 5k run/walk mixes with the new puppy and one set of hill sprints all within the last 2 weeks.
7 miles through the hills between Keuka and Canandaigua this weekend. Feels good to be getting into a little bit higher miles again. Could have run more but I’m taking it slow and sticking to my training schedule for a marathon in September.
I have been focusing on my breathing techniques, and have been seeing great results. I can do the 1.5 mile in around 10.5 - 11 minutes now, which is way better than when I started at around 13 minutes. About half of it was conditioning, and the other half was breathing and pacing.
I have also GREATLY improved my 300m sprints. I started out not being able to do it, and then last year getting down to around 55 seconds or so. This year, with better breathing, I am at 48 - 49 seconds, without changing anything else.
Did the Quakerman triathlon today in OP and could only do 9:40 avg miles on the 6.2mile run. That was after swimming 3/4 mile and biking 25miles. Total time of 2:52:33. It was my first Tri ever so it’s the benchmark to work from.
Sweet! Great work
Went out for a late night run tonight on the river path in North Tonawanda. 4 miles in 33 minutes. ~8.25 per mile pace with some sprinting/walking towards the end.
Haven’t run since the corporate challenge, need to get my ass in gear.
Ok…
1/2 Ironman
Full Marathon ~4hrs (would need to train pretty good currently can do 4:40ish)
Ultra Marathon 50mi run
I think I am going to actually gasp train for an event and see how it works out. I just need to pick one. Ironman would probably be the most fun and it is new territory for me. Hmmmmmm
Big Ed and my self did the Grand Island bridge the other night. 4 times over ended up being about 2.7-8 miles. First time and over was 10.52 for 1.38 miles second time was 12.20 for 1.35 miles but I walked on the last one a bit. The change in incline really kicked my ass.
When are you thinking about doing the full? I’m probably going to sign up for the Montreal race on September 23th. http://ca.competitor.com/montreal/montreal-splash
Also, I was talking with a friend who does Ironmans and he asked if I’d ever do one. I said I want to run a marathon, but that’s probably as far as I’ll go. His response was “That’s what I said before I ran my first marathon too.” lol So we’ll see.
I believe the Rochester Marathon is Sept 23rd. So if I am going to do another this year I would probably go there as my sister is doing it. My runing since the marathon has been meh at best.
Yeah I have been thinking a bunch about the Ironman. I think training in multilpe events will help keep your interest and at the end of the day…it is super badass. Maybe I will find a 1/2 Iron and go doit.

Also I have considered the Toronto Waterfront Marathon
http://www.torontowaterfrontmarathon.com/en/index.htm
Ironman is no joke. Your looking at 11-12 hours to complete for the average triathlete. 2.4mile open water swim, 100 mile bike, and then run a marathon.
I would highly recommend starting with a few Olympic distance tri’s, then a few 70.3 (half) ironmans before even considering a full ironman.
Some good resources:

Clearly I am aware of what it entails. Also did you not read that I stated the goal was 1/2 Iron this year(or the other two options)? Which I honestly could probably do right now. Anyone want to sign up for one?
I am on both forums/sites.
The bike portion is 112mi in the full
No sweat. I’m no expert on the subject but just wanted to make sure people understand what’s involved to complete something like this. Even a 70.3 is months of training.
Good luck to you.
