WTF Rapid Running half marathon, WTF WTF
Apparently the whole thing was a mess before it got cancelled. Sucks for people that planned to come run it from far away.

Just ran the first 31 miles of the Western States 100. I volunteered for the Safety Patrol and it was quite the experience. Aside from terrible weather, 36 and rain with sleet at the top of the escarpment, the run was really enjoyable. My race plans for this year are the the Headlands 50 mile in September and TNF 50 mile San Francisco. If anyone has questions on ultras feel free to pm me. Im a big fan of irunfar.com for keeping up with whats happening in the trail/ultra scene.
That is very relative to current condition. If I can run a marathon on minimal training and not even get sore I am quite certain 70.3 is not easy but certainly not way out of my fitness level. A friend of the family that has done a few is going to send me what he thinks a training schedule would look like for me. I can post it when I get it if you guys are interested. On my next day off I think I am going to go for a swim, bike, run maybe OLY distance just to see how they feel together. Easiest way to plot distance in the water?

Ultras are super rad. What is the furthest you have covered? 50mi is super badass. Pm sent with a bunch of questions.

Where you swimming? My schedule won’t let me swim in the AM at ECC like I used to (7-5, M-F by airport). Still need to work on my breathing… My good knee is hurt from favoring the one I hurt… fml.
Swimming outside near the coast guard area. I am going to start putting a schedule together tonight. But this is tough if I want to run the marathon ~4hrs but start tri training as well. Thinking 4 day a week training

I am going to start riding the bike to work. Not really sure why I havent been but this should give me all the speed training I need on the bike. Swimming only 1x a week is probably the only concern so on weeks I can do 5 days I will add in another swim. After the marathon I will drop the second run for a second swim.
However running 2x a week will be tought to get to ~4hr marathon shape.
Also I know lots of tri/iron guys train 2x a day so I will have to consider how much I am willing to flex my schedule. One thing I do like the idea of is atleast once a week combining 2 events ie swim/bike, bike/run, etc etc.
def not as manly as what else is being posted, but ran my first 5k tonight since having 2 herniated discs in april. back = fine, lungs = fine, legs = fine, core= NEGS

Yeah sometimes I like to take jabs at things I know I can’t accomplish too.
Did 9mi @ 9:06 pace this morning. Pretty happy with it since most of my distance training has been around the 10min mark. But if I am serious about doing a ~4hr marathon or even close to it then I have to stay around 9min/mi in training. I would be happy ~4:30 but we will see where I can get it. My next long run I think I might try to do 13mi/9min pace

Just took a nice 4mi 8:45pace jog. Legs were a little heavy from yesterday and I took it real easy on the pace. Beautiful out!
Thinking next run might be a hardish pace 5k. ~24?
Anyone else run the 50 yard finish? Finished the half marathon in 1:43:00. Finishing on the 50 was amazing! Awesome experience.

50 Yard Finish!
I am following the same running schedule Paulo is for my next Marathon. Feeling good so far and it is 4 days a week. Started swimming with Buffalo Triathlon Club which is rad but I need some work on my swimming form. My Runkeeper shows most of my activities.
