«OFFICIAL» Watercraft / Jet Ski / PWC Thread + Boats

Is that your gps? Can I borrow that one day so I can see what Im laying down?

Better yet how much are those?lol

Cars are so last year. The cool kids have moved on to boats, jet skis, drones and garage builds.

Dont forget about snowmobiles!

As always, a day late and a dollar short. Time to find a new future hobby.

Don’t worry bud, two tone boats are EXTREMELY common.

Sure, and this one is really old. You can find them for $20 on eBay: Garmin eTrex Vista Handheld for sale online | eBay

Search for Gamin eTrex. Mine is the Vista but there are other models.

One day I hope to be as authentic as you

Thats cool looking and the ML would have fun pulling it.

But I dont have time to own a boat. It seems like a fun idea, but I would rather walk 5 feet to my pool.

See, I live downtown. I’m 2 minutes from the water. The lake is my pool

Ok, an update on my machine…

I took it to Anchor Marine with a new (used, but in prefect shape) fuel selector valve. Asked them to replace it and then water test to verify if that in fact was the issue, but if not, repair it accordingly. Turns out the air/fuel adjustment was pretty out of whack, so after proper adjustment, they gave it a clean bill of health. I am at jfk right now awaiting a flight to Mexico, but upon my return, will be picking it up and taking it out…can not wait…

I will say the service dept. at Anchor seems great if anyone needs service work…the guy I dealt with was named Joe, and he was very reasonable to talk to, and my bill was act. less than originally quoted…they are pricey at $110/hour, but happily this job, including the water test, only set me back $132…if my problem is indeed fixed, I will be quite happy…

I’ve always heard good things about the guys at Anchor Marine. I’ve had good luck with Collins as well and have always used them for stuff I couldn’t do myself since that’s where I bought the boat.

that’s awesome joe, it’s hard to find reasonably priced and reliable service for boats.

Nice Joe, hoping for the best!

I’m going out this afternoon while the water temp is still 70+

Now that gallagher beach is closed for the season, where is everyone launching from? Trying to head out this weekend for what looks like the last ride of the summer.

Just go to the right when you pull in. Its still free to launch but its a pain in the ass parking your car because its a bit of a hike.

Yeah you can still launch at the marina but it’s not as convenient. We went to Sturgeon Point yesterday (my first time) and I enjoyed sandy beach area outside the wall

$8 to launch at Sturgeon Point and it’s not as convenient / centrally located as Gallagher.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll try the marina this weekend.

Me and my cousins took a ride out past sturgeon point a few weeks back. Stopped there for gas on the way back home. Very nice, clean and well maintained marina. I only wish it was closer.

Has anyone launched from hamburg beach? I know you must have a permit sticker for the beach. Is it the same for using the dock or can you pay for the day?

I took off last Friday and took the boat out. I went form Hidden Marina in Irving to Buffalo River Works. It was a PERFECT day. The lake was so flat is was mesmerizing to look at after a while.

On that ride we wanted to stop at Crystal Beach. We tried calling in the number for customs and they told us we had to go somewhere else to report, and mentioned that we may have more difficulty calling to reenter the US. Does anyone with RECENT experience know the process for doing this? Everyone I talk to gives me different answers, and most of the people haven’t done it in the past 5-10 years.
