«OFFICIAL» Watercraft / Jet Ski / PWC Thread + Boats

I’ve given up on going to Canada by boat. We’ll enter Canadian waters but never to go shore anymore. Technically you’re not even supposed to enter Canadian waters now without reporting but I haven’t seen or heard of anyone being hassled about it.

Went out yesterday on my new Solas impeller and pump wedge. What a huge difference from before! Pin it from the start and it pulls out of the water without hitting the rev limiter and takes off. I found some semi Flat water yesterday and I had to find out my top speed. I had the GPS going and I made up to 64MPH on 2 bars of gas in the tank… until it started to heat soak then held me back a bit. I am running stock boost still 13lbs. Next summer should be interesting:snky:

Still launching at big 6 on the island. But that is where I live so may not be best for everyone

Let’s dance

Since when do you have a ski? I thought I read you have a boat!

No ski, I’m talking my boat vs your jet ski for some high speed runs sometime. I’m currently in the 64-65 mph range

I’m in! GPS around 65 mph

I am planning on going out this w/e…

I’ll likely be helping Mike93 launch his woody and be on my boat this Sunday by the small boat harbor break wall if any ski dudes want to rip it up.

Depending on the temp and winds I might be In. I was thinking about taking my ski in soon for the gas tank recall but If I can squeeze another ride in In I might do that.

Yes, we do this a few times over the summer and only when we plan to anchor for a long time or go ashore.

You might have had the wrong number and I don’t have the right number on me at the moment. You call them (Canada) up, give full names and answer their questions (usually very basic.) Then they give you a confirmation number that you need to display somewhere on you boat in case the authorities come around.

When you come back to Buffalo there is a video phone at Erie Basin Marina to speak with US Customs, but it was out of order not too long ago (I posted about it here.) So in that case you just call the US number and give the same basic info to US customs.

It’s really not a hassle and takes only a few minutes. We’ve done it with 6+ people and even when half of the people on board were visiting Buffalo from Canada.

Film this! I want to see it in action  I’ll be out of town this weekend.

Somewhat related, how are the MPGs going with your RR? Check out this range while my ski was on the back and the sunroof open:

492 + 43 already traveled = 535 miles

This was on my way to Muskoka. Didn’t get to really see what real world range would be since we hit cottage country traffic for 2 hours. Still managed over 450+ miles on that tank though.

Towing the boat I get 18ish mpg at 60 mph. Any other long highway trip I see 21-22, right about where you’re at.

Nice. And take a look at my odometer

Lame ass flyby from Mike’s woody

I would of been nervous about that wake if I was in Mike’s prize woody

Lotta chatter about my wood in here…here’s some real shitty vids, for now. Poop, I was suprised at how well the hull handled the rollers last night. Scott’s wake really wasn’t bad at all. It’s a bummer this audio didn’t come through, because this sounded awesome.

The day prior, much calmer.

It floats!

Must of been satisfying to get it in the water. Looks like a fun cruiser.

I have had some monster wakes throw at me in the river, most notably a small yacht at crusing speed. That turned into Niagara falls my bow riders. I would of thought Scotts boat would throw something similar.

At that speed you don’t have to worry about your wake because so little of the boat is in the water. Now had Scott gone past 1/2 on plane like all the guys with big cruisers do, different story.

So cool to see the old woody out doing flybys.
