in for sure
Anyone get out over the holiday weekend? We went out for just a short cruise on the river Saturday evening but it was rough with the winds. Our daughter was staying with friends at a cottage in Angola since Friday so we took the boat from Isle View on the 4th (Niawanda was closed because of the fireworks) down to Angola to pick her up. Lake was a little choppy coming back but not bad. East river was crazy as is to be expected on the 4th.
A shot of Buffalo when we were about 3/4th of the way back.
I was out Sunday at Sturgeon Point and Monday on Lake Ontario. Lake Ontario is COLD still. Even the air temp.
Erie looked like an obstacle course over the weekend and the reports said “life threatening waves” for Satruday. I was waiting to hear of a kayak accident :noes:
Yeah, our original plan for Saturday was to cruise around the river a bit then take the boat to Buffalo River Works for dinner/drinks. One look at the wind speed and the ice boom cam and we bailed on that plan and just took a quick cruise around the east river and behind Cayuga Island then dropped the boat at my house and hit up NYBP by car.
Planned to get out this w/e, but other things caught me up…soon…
We’ll be out Wednesday after work either around Navy Island or the Canadian shore of the west river wakeboarding and tubing.
I got out Monday down by canalside for a few hours. Wasn’t to bad. Never would’ve have gone out Saturday or Sunday with the way it looked.
Listed das boat. Open to offers. It’s stupid clean

Great night on the water last night. Two runs on the wakeboard, 1 run tubing and one run slalom skiing with a spectacular wipeout @ 30mph where my face hit the water so hard I think it skipped. Sore already this morning so by 5pm I should be near useless. Getting old sucks.
We are thinking about getting a boat…
Not sure what you’re looking for or what the budget is, but the one I posted is very unique, well constructed and well sorted. It certainly stands out, and is quite rare. If you’d like to take a look at it just let me know…
Anything in mind? Cuddy? Cruiser? Open bow family runabout? The NYSpeed Vette of the boat world, a deep V offshore closed bow with a big V8?
Thanks, but that is more than we would want to spend on our first boat…but it looks beautiful…

Not sure yet…something that can fit 4-6 adults, maybe a couple kids…
Best of luck, it’s a nice hobby…
My opinion, look for a 20-21’ open bow with at least 260hp if you’re thinking watersports (so 5.0 fuel injected or better). The 220hp 5.0 carbs are ok but you’ll struggle with watersports and a load of people. Good deals out there, especially if you’re willing to travel a bit. I found mine near Albany.
An 18’ boat will fit those people but you’ll have very little room to move around with the all your stuff for a day on the water. Plus it’s rough here because our waterways are busy and it’s a lot more enjoyable with more boat. This is coming from someone who just sold an 18’ bowrider with a 3.0 that I had for 16 years.
Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
Splashed my ski down at gallagher beach yesterday afternoon. Not busy at all. Water was really warm. Calm inside the break wall until late afternoon on the way back in. Had some fun on the 2-3 footers outside the wall. Great day on the water. Really sore today though.
Posted a quick video of some spins & slides on my stock waveblaster: https://www.instagram.com/p/BHkzjxJgEVv/
Coast guard stopped us the other day and says its 10mph till you get out past the break wall from now on. Anyone elese get the talk from the basket of oranges.
I posted this a few weeks ago:
It’s total BS. Personally I don’t spend a lot of time inside the wall because I WANT the waves, but those who use it as a highway are going to avoid the area if enforcement gets strict.
