I bought a not super thick wetsuit from Dicks last year at the end of season for $50 and was riding pretty late into fall. I get some strange looks from the hos and bros all sitting on the beach but I don’t care. The only time I feel cold on the ski is when I’m not wearing the wet suit, fall off the ski, then get back on and go 50mph.
Ski is running again. The shaft bearing came loose from its rubber seat and opened up a 3" wide hole in the back of the hull. All fixed…I hope. Going for another run tonight.
One of my hairiest moments on a boat was when I was much younger on my late grandfathers '89 Sea Ray. If memory serves me correctly it was the last year of the MerCruiser V8 or some shit. I loved that boat.
We were out on 2nd Lake up in old forge when the boat started smoking. It’s been such a long time, and I was just a little kid, but I think the bilge pump failed or something, and water was getting into the hull at a pretty fast pace. We had to beach the damn boat in a rocky area while it smoked and filled up with water.
It was pretty scary/awesome now that I look back on it.
Boat was fixed and we got another 10 good years out of it before my grandmother sold it for a new pontoon boat.
The grand island/canada side is almost flat even on weekends with hardly any boats.
Sadly never been out to the lakes yet. Hoping to check it out this summer though
I want to get on the lake for the large swells. But I need to make sure this thing won’t shut off on me at random.
I’ve been out several times this summer in some large waves but on a sailboat. There was one time we were out in a thunderstorm and out of the blue comes a guy on a PWC jumping these 6’+ waves. It looked amazing, but it was also raining so I didn’t take pics.
I would go out this weekend. Got both of mine running well. The battery in my tow vehicle died yesterday so I couldn’t make it out. One thing after a another. F*ck!
