I was trying to figure something out, my front wheels are 16x7 +35 and they are about 3-4 mm from the coilovers I had in the front, now some people have 17x9 +20 in the front which means it would be exactly 1cm closer to the coil, wouldn’t it rub? Or am I missing something…
That should clear no prob, If you want to make sure go to this site.
I know how ot calculate how far in the wheel goes, I wanna know how much room i got? lol but thx for the site
I’m surprised you have so little room. Is your rim 3-4 mm away from the coilover? or is your tire 3-5 mm away from your coilover? What size tires do you have on there now? And for that matter what kind of coilovers are they?
Are you positive your offset is +35?
It’s stamped on the back, it was supposed to be lower and wider rim, but it’s a long story that I explained in Seller feedback lol, anyways, the tires are 225/50 and your right, they are like 2mm away and my rims are like 1 cm away, but I still think the 17x9 +20 would be rubbing. They were Kei Office coils which are for sale btw. lol
I know for a fact that with the right tire selection you can just fit a 17x9 +20 on an S14…I don’t know what the difference would be with an S13.
Even still there’s always spacers to fix your problems
PintoTech has 17x9+43 on the back, that can’t give any clearance on the shock…
Well I;m planning on buying wheels where you can pick any offset you want, so I wanna get it right, nothing says dorky like spending 3k on rims and then having to use a 5mm spacer lolll Anyways, I think I no what i’ll get 17x9.5 +15 all around
I had a set of fast wheels on my car with my Tein coilovers and the front rims rub on the shocks.
Well that’s nice, but what was the width and offset?
FAst Octanes were 17X9 +35 offset. from what i read, a 15mm spacer was needed for springs and shocks making it +20, but for coils, you’d need a 20mm spacer, making it +15.
But 17x9 +35 fits in the back…Yeah, I’ll just have to get other coils and check it out.
front and rear I had to use a small spacer, 1/4" (IIRC the size) to get the fast octane 17X9 +35 to clear on all corners (S13)
even then (test fitted w 245/45/17) the tires were MM from the front lower spring mount
Ok, cause I know someone was selling 17x9 +35 rims here a few months ago and he said they fit without spacers in the back with a 255/40r17 tire. It was Jacky Ngai.
