i guess all the “straight” drifters out there use 275 wide or more tires to drift. mybe its cheaper/easier to drift w/ not so wide tires on a near stock power car. (and yes i buy new tires for drifting)

if you don’t like stretch, then don’t do it. simple as that.

i didnt do this for any other reason other than that 275’s wont fit under a stock fender with these wheels and the required spacing… not without modding anyways.
these wheels are off the car and will be remounted with the 275’s for my other car.

SON has more track days than any other forum in the country… more than the fukking porsche clubs.
we have 3-4 members who cooridnate dozens of track days a year, most of which are predominantly or at least well represented by SON240sx members.
There are dozens of members on the site who do not post every day that are among the most progressive tuners in the country. guys that are basically famous in Ontario…
no other regional, chassis-specific forum comes close. Don’t kid yourself.
some like to walk around with pants to their waist or higher, some like it lower.
some like to slam their car, some like 4x4 height
some like to wear tighty whities, some like to wear boxers.
it’s all style and hardly function. Drifting is a style which is why most drifter’s run stretch.
HOWEVER, there are good reasons to why ppl stretch tires.
1) stiffens the sidewalls of a tire that normally wouldn’t be stiff, which helps provide better steering response, and better prediction when the rear steps out
2) fitment issues
3) looks
4) budget
shit mang, tire blowouts happen REGARDLESS if you stretch or not.
brand new tires blow out, what are you going to do? ride on flinestones?
