It’s all about driving style… Half the people who claim to get shitty gas mileage probably beat the shit out of the car like they are running from the cops every day.

Heh… that’s me. Well, not the complaining part, but the shitty mileage part. I feel like I have to defend my GTO when they ask what kind of mileage it gets and I say 14 mpg. I know lots of people getting high teens in town with them but they don’t drive like me. I’ve seen 25-26 on the highway though.
get a ef hatch ( with rust all over ) w/ a stock motor in it, for like 400 bucks and get 28mpg all day… and if something breaks so many people have stock motors and parts all around
my .02
and at the end of winter sell it for 400 or 350 :gotme:
I think it’s a bad move for the simple fact that a used car with over 100k is probably going to require some kind of investment to get working in the condition you want it to. If it does not (lucky you), I am willing to bet eventually there is going to be some kind of failure that will require a few hundo to fix anyway which is why the car was up for sale in the first place.

To me and I will autocross it during the summer, then sell it back to you for 250 for next winter. :sword:
Of course, all the f*cks in here have to talk about money, I don’t give a shit about how much I save. I’ll be saving a bit on gas and I’ll have a decently fun car to drive around. If I wanted a car soley for MPG i’d buy a civic or a corrola. NO. I want a BMW.
All you ignorant people leave this thread. Not once did I ask if I should BUY a car, but I focused on what issues I should look at dealing with these cars.
I don’t car how much I’ll save on gas, I know i’ll save a decent amount
And, my truck gets about 17mph mixed drving, about 21 on the highway at 65…and around down is around 15.
I should have added in the OP that I’m not buying to save $. That’s dumb. I’m buying a car for the fun factor mostley, and second of alll it will save driving my truck every where which will save on gas.

:picard: your thread title and description did imply that. Remove stick from rectum.
I’m out, i guess i’m “ignorant”
Yes,
I Change my mind everyday,
Driving the truck daily is kinda killing me on gas, I drive atleast 50 miles a day and at 15 MPG the gas pump loves me.

Dude, You’re first point in your first post very clearly brought up gas consumption.
I’m not buying to save $.I’m buying a car …[to]… save driving my truck every where which will save on gas.

A 2 line post and you still managed to contradict yourself?
I would just like to offer the advice that if you cannot admit the reality of your reasons to yourself then perhaps you should reconsider what you are doing.

Maybe you should just kill yourself because everyone hates you. You’re a useless ignorant loser who mooches off mommy and daddy so he can buy a bunch of toys. Grow up, or end yourself. Either would be acceptable.
there was a helpfull suggestion in there that said spend the extra money and get an E46 and you will be better off in the long run. More reliable. You will put more money into the E36 (especially at High miles) than if you just purchased an E36.

Let me rephrase this,
I’m looking to get into a e36. I’ve always wanted one so I’m going to do it, hence why I asked for suggestions. One plus would be that I will save on gas.
Why is it such a big deal that I JUST turned 20 and live at home? I’d say about 80% of 19-20 yr olds live at home. Just because I live at home means I can’t spend my hard earned money on toys?
Don’t be pissed because you leased a POS GTO
