stop the interweb,sammy’s speeking
what is speeking?
out his ass
Man you don’t cease to amaze me. Instead of typing the first stupid thing that comes to your head. Relax take a deep breathe and think about what you are writing.
Yes AEM makes EMS for 1g and 2g dsm.
:bowrofl:
haha he spelled it the way I did thinking I spelled it right…bwahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
u spelled it the same way i did :tool:
I’m not picking a fight. Why must you always take shit so personally? DSMlink is a piggyback or bandaid system which more or less tricks the stock ECU into your desired a/f ratio and misc other tuning. Yes people have had success with it, but it’s mostly only the hardcore DSM tuners that do.
Run what you want, who gives a fuck what I think. I’m going back to sleep now
Turbo III mopar. Minus the shitty head.
i dont’ think you know what dsmlink is…it’s not tricking the stock ecu it IS the ecu there’s no trickery it’s not a piggyback like an afc or a translator or anything like that
the 2zz sucks as far as modding potential goes, i used to have one, id rather have a 1zz and boost it
3s-ge motor is probably one of the best ever…/thread
oh yea, and dsmlink sucks…w00p
:boink
why don’t we ask gray05…
i’m sure he knows…whatever 4banger he has own was probably the best ever :dunno:
crawford performance 2.6litre
This is taken from DSMlink.com
- How does DSMLink work and what are the basic components?
Basically, we take your factory EPROM ECU, socket the chip, and reprogram it. Our laptop software then talks to this ECU through the standard diagnostic port located under your dash using our provided cable. We do not use the factory protocol, though. We have our own communication scheme entirely. The factory interface simply does not provide any of the features of DSMLink. So the basic components are an EPROM chip, a cable, and some laptop software. The 1G version also includes an add-on memory board. The adapter cable included with DSMLink is specially made for this application and incorporates features not found in other adapters.
It is a chip and cable that attaches to the factory ECU and goes to a laptop, correct?
How is it not a piggyback?
becaue the eprom chip IS the ecu it’s what contains the fuel maps which you MODIFY not modify the signal going TO them. you’re not tricking the airflow to the ecu you’re telling the ecu what the airflow is. there’s a BIG difference
Sounds more or less just like Chrome, Uberdata, or even hondata for the Hondas.
probably closer to hondata but it’s not a piggyback
steve,
it is a piggyback. there is really no chip and is just a handheld POS that manipulates signals to the stock ECU.
the ones you talked about actually rewrite the program
