Some more progress. Mounted new radiator most of the way complete, mounted the intercooler, and finished charge pipes. still have to do main feed tube to the TB and finish wastegates before it all gets final welded. Then i gotta finish the exhaust to downpipe tubes.

Thanks, those bends worked out great. I think i’m gonna order 1 more 3" J bend and that will finish that last section.

I’m 50/50 on the transmission.

Its gonna be Th400 or T56. Also cant rule out 4l80E but 400 is cheaper there. I can save about 600-800 bucks doing the TH400 i think depending on the converter and how much the trans actually costs/driveshaft stuff/etc. Much easier to isntall too i think. I’m just not sure what i want to do.

It be faster too with that auto :slight_smile: Want to go 12 bolt rear with 3.08 gear with the th400, and 3.23 with the T56 i think.

If your T56 has .50 OD, then you will want tto go 4.10 or even deeper. Especially with the SBC. In 6th Gear with my 4.56s, I cruise approx 70mph @ 2100 rpm w/27.5" dia tire. You wanna get the motor in it’s sweet spot for cruising. 3.23s will prolly do 70 mph at about 1400 rpm. You’d be into the boost to keep it at speed.

i need 3.23 to 3.42 max to keep it from over revving in the 1/4 mile. I plan to be over 140mph traps with high boost. I"m using a 26" tire and dont want to go any higher.

4.10’s is overkill. I’d have to shift into 5th gear

I didnt plan on using 6th gear anyway. 5th overdrive is like .70 or so which should be ok with those gears and my motor.

planning on a TH400 i think for now, just to get used to the new setup and work the bugs out.

Got the elbow today… requested a 3" height rise to clear the water neck but turns out i could/should have went with 2" rise like i was going to. Oh well. Will need 4" cowl i think to clear

what the hell size is the LS1 throttle body for a silicon coupler? I"m guessing 3.75" cuz i have both a 3.5" and a 4" and they dont fit.

hey were di u get them couplers at btw

try putting the 3.5 in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds and try slipping it on
