only if i get a job soon to pay for it. lol i’m barely making any income
Are you getting the L98 heads for free?
You DO realize, that they really DO NOT FLOW THAT WELL stock.
I understand you are going to port them, but I’m not sure I would go through the trouble of a head swap just for those particular heads.
(Especially when there are lots of better choices out there.)
Just Sayin…
EDIT: no longer doin heads cam L98 but a whole new 383 ‘L98’ so to speak
RIGHT STUFF FTW
i was thinking the same thing
it was like welded to the motor! it took awhile to get taht manifold off with the right stuff on there!! seals nicely too
RIGHT STUFF>
drivers side cylinder head is off, will get pics tonight. i was having lean conditions as the exhaust valves were white and so were the plugs. I added 3-4 % fuel and still lean i guess.
cylinder walls and pistons look great! like clean and like new. should that be like that at 158K miles??? or was it because it was lean that it “cleaned” up.
head gasket looked like a coated thin steel shim type so i dont know if thats original or not. i’ll get some pics
some pics
HOLY LEAN CONDITION!! those valves are WHITEEEE!
haha wow thats nuts
thats exactly how my motor looks!
thats not a good sign then huh? cuz aint your motor blown up?
you did an l98 swap ?:eek3:
nope. topless!
i just popped a headgasket
K, other head is off, motor is looking pretty good so far
Schmexy.

you think that would be safe to run on this bottom end? i’m so tempted to go with that cam since i can get it for somewhat cheap, everyone sells it now it seems. plus it will sound bad asssssss
BUT i dont want to rev any higher than 5800-6000. i’ll take it to 6500 in november to get a max effort time out of it if it will help, but i dont think i’ll beable to tune this cam
i’m nervous about it. if this motor blows i dont think i’ll be too happy haha
why not?
do it!!! c’mon, join the club
