Osad's CA Build

We put a stock SR into My friend Wardle’s S12 notch and it ran a 13 without any bullshit, just custom exhaust/FMIC by Joe at union. and he ran that 13 on tires that were fucked and quite a few boost leaks.

S12 is the best S chassis. Most solid and most light, also most overlooked.

S12 is win, can’t wait to see yours done Osad.

Another small update for today, just more disassembly and inspection.

Pics:

A little organization so I don’t lose stuff and forget to put it back in.

Throttle body:

Idle control/coolant lines:

I don’t know what the previous owners used for an air filter, if any. There is raw, large sand in the intake plenum:

The four intake butterfly valves:

This is just a taste of the build-up of shit on the intake side of this motor:

Lower intake manifold and the secondary valve components:

Thats it for today…

yosad. you should make this car uber light and just flick it around all the time.

still can’t get it to pop up but w/e 705hp ca18det

Anyone with a CA knows Mobnes’ CA is the bomb.

Highly useless, but awesome to get that power from 1.9L

Are u getting rid of the secondary butterflies completely?
just heard a lot about how it gives more torque and power lower in the rpms when set up properly, but is it really worth the complexity to keep it as intended. though if u get rid of it completely u could probably get better flow in the topend theoretically.

We will be keeping them because there is a very noticeable difference having them hooked up correctly. There is a way to remove the factory vacuum system that makes them work by using a Volvo cruise control vacuum pump and a relay and some creative wiring.

It simplifies the system immensly and actually makes it work a little better.

Removing it will yeild no extra flow unless you were to do extensive work to it and were requiring massive flow rates. It’s plenty good enough for up to 400hp.

Everyone hates vacuum lines. I do too, possibly more than others, so we’ll see if I hook that up or not.

^ Good thing you didn’t have the CA20e, that thing is a vaccuum catastrophe.

I have a ca18et right now. It’s a flippin’ nightmare too ahahah!

Great Job so far , keep it up!

Still waiting for parts to arrive. Going today to check the status of them.

Nick (blue_s13) notified me earlier that all the parts will be arriving tommorow!

Get ready (i hope) for a shiny, clean pic update!

Dan this is going to be killer! Your S12 is one sharp car, I love the lines of those, S12 hatch> s13 hatch anyday.

You still work at GPK? I need my fix of karting again haha…

Osad: Ya man, I still work there. Come by whenever. I work thursdays, saturdays, and sundays!

And Thank you !!

So it’s been quite awhile with no updates until today.

The parts I ordered came in today, except for the piston rings which they neglected to tell me that they couldn’t get. Fuck Nissan employees can be really dumb.

Enjoy:

And yes Dan, I am putting this amazing little touch on the timing cover. JDM timing belt change notice, ooo ahhh:

Looks awesome man. LOL, we’ll talk about the sticker :stuck_out_tongue:

Yea, we gotta find the rings then, that’s fucking annoying…

Yeah, I have that sticker on mine but it’s in english.

Rings are going to be fun to find, but hopefully not too hard.
