this skater kid in HS got one of the blacked out interceptors, brush guards spotlights and all, and got fake sirens, a train horn, air ride, and had a sick system. He also had a bike rack on top and tried to give it that euro look… It had a “cool” factor to it but idk he used to do the same thing to get people to move and an off duty cop followed us one day into a gas station and basically yelled at us for 20 minutes and brought an on-duty cop to cite him for impersonating a police officer, luckily they couldn’t find the siren control panel (kid had it hidden well) and only found the train horn so he got off with a warning for that, but a citation for tints among other things…
I agree, since I live outside NYC I see a lot of old interceptors, stupid taxis that arent yellow, etc and they always get me thinking they are cops…

A “cop car” was following me all the way down Rt. 20 the other day. He eventually passed me when it turned into 4 lanes. It was 2 80-year old guys in a black base-model Crown Vic.:danny:
Its funny but Jam i’ll have to agree with you…That young punk who was riding your ass should not be in possession of a current looking ex-police car.Its people like him that give a bad rep for us who enjoy and drive ex-police cruisers.
I myself have been into police package vehicles since i was 16 years old and my love for them has not changed.I don’t buy and drive these things so i can play Cop on the road or tailgate people, ect… If anything i always stay around 3-4 car lenths behind the vehicle infront of me,but thats just safe driving.
Anyways, their are always going to be a few bad apples in the bunch,i leave it to the Police to sort them out.
Here is a picture of me standing next to a 1994 9C1 Caprice NY State police car.I believe i was 17 years old at the time and this was back in like 1994.I had to take a picture of a picture so the quality of the pic is not the greatest.I had a friend of mine take this picture quick before the trooper asked me what the hell was i doing stading next to his car lol.
Here is yet another picture taken only a few years ago of me stading next to a 2003 NYSP Crown victoria. This was back in '02 or '03.

^Correction,
That is a 2004 CVPI not a '03.The rims give it away.03’s had fewer holes in the rims than the '04 and '05 models. Also 05’s had a rear right 1/4 antenna, only for that year.
Just saw an ex cop car ricing out from a light on Rte5 @ lake ave with “INTERCEPTOR GT” on the back windshield in HUGE letters. FWIW the loud ass exhaust did sound mean.
Jam I drive an ex state police Tahoe. It’s my new tow vehicle/daily. They come with upgrades that happen to be conducive to towing, like a massive radiator, engine oil cooler, tranny cooler, dual batteries, etc.
My friend has a black out police interceptor, tint, spotlight, and i think some extra antennas in the decklid.
He says it’s funny on the highway when traffic is super light ahead of him and in his rearview it looks like rush hour lol.
With him it’s wierd because he’s kind of playing the cop role, without being an actual cop. I mean he does security but w/e. But for normal people I don’t give a fugg…
