People's Republic of China

I agree with you…

Wouldn’t it just simpler to blow the satellite out of the sky??

^Wait until 2012 when the solar activity increases and we have no satallite communication. Maybe China is waiting for that opprtunity.:snky:

Wonder how many tanks/troops you could ship with this thing…

Pull right in to Port of Los Angles and let the union dock worker unload your invasion force.

^Trojan horse. “Here is lots of blinky electronics for you.”

Thats exactly what you and the rest of the Left would be doing when they storm ashore.

They never would. It would be disastrous for their economy. It would make no sense in this day for there to be a “WWIII”. The only place China has beef with us is over Taiwan, which if you asked the average Chinese person they prob dont give a fuck. Taiwan is China’s Cuba… a little non threatening island off the coast that is more a case of hurt pride than anything else. If China didnt try to take it back in the days of hardcore Maoist China they never will. Its a non issue. In the 21st century we have only to worry about tiny 3rd world Rouge nations and our little friends in sand land. Never in our life times or our children’s lifetimes will we see something on the scale of WWII. This discussion is for entertainment purposes

Yes, and if you go back and read the first article that’s what they were talking about

I would worry a lot more about strategic attack against large corporations and logistics company’s etc…

If someone could take out UPS, FedEx, Banks around the same time it would fuck up the stock market something awful.

I’m not really sure what recourse the Government would have if China made an organized attack. I don’t know if they would bomb someone over Ethugging however it might set a whole new set of standards lol.

If that was the case you would be on a hit list :stuck_out_tongue:

The fact that we buy China’s stuff and or economies are interconnected with trade of useless crap has almost nothing to do with whether there will be any chance of a war.

In the event of a major conflict, economies are transformed into war machines and the only thing of importance is import of raw materials and arms. (speaking strictly about economic sectors) It wont matter at all that we would stop buying their lead laced toys and ipods. We are both nations full of natural resources and/or with allies with natural resources.

Though we have an advantage in technology, they have an advantage with industry. In the event of a war they could retool all their factories for war purposes. We would have to build new factories and rely on imports from our allies to build up our army fast enough.

China has actual interest in taiwan and the US medaling with that interest within their sphere of influence has larger repercussions than just China trying to act tough.

Obviously we are not about to go to war, but I argue that the framework for a conflict environment is building.

I would also like to add another major concern would be circuits and other compoents made in China that are used in our weapon systems.

Just to add a little of my own tin-foil…

China, because of it’s one-child-per-family policy and preference for male heirs has a gender-imbalance on its hands.

Currently, it’s estimated that there are ~20 Million males who won’t have a chance of finding a spouse who are now coming-of-age in their society. That’s another pent-up problem that the government is seeing, and one that they won’t be as worried about when it comes to “military attrition” if it comes to a war.

China has already used “human wave attacks” in the past - we’ve been faced with it before some 60 years ago - and I doubt the Chinese military has changed their mindset from those times, as they haven’t been forced into fighting a war lately.

And though the US military has undoubtedly “benefited” from the experiences of the Iraq war - I’d doubt that the current counter-insurgency plan and up-tempo wear-and-tear on our military will help us - at least until a couple years after we leave both Iraq and Afghanistan.

In any case, the economies are too inter-twined for anyone on either side to risk open warfare. I’d bet that the new battleground would be economic, not military.

And one thing that the Chinese will have in their favor is the sheer size of the population - with a Billion people and assuming the same percentages going into engineering/computer science, then the sheer number of potential Chinese “black hat” hackers (both official and free-lance) out there performing anti-industrial and anti-governmental work will outnumber ours.

And finally, though America has had an (admittedly spotty) history of helping other countries (e.g. eventually leaving Germany and Japan and cultivating them as allies), China has no history of the same. It’s acting in its own interests and hasn’t “grown up enough” as a society to work with others. This is one reason why I think China has been reluctant to engage re: an Iranian nuke vs. say Russia.

Its the entitlement idea that is bringing this country down becuase people no longer feel the need to work hard for what they have. instead they feel it is owed to them.

Even with China’s sheer numbers. They can not match us militarily. Our soldiers are far more trained than theirs. Hell, our basic training is more than 90% of countries recieve. Then after basic, you have your specialized training. Even in a case with an all out war with china, I still think we would have the upper hand due to military technology superiority. Not only that, but also remember that China has no natural petrolium. They import everything, which would have a major backlash in the long run. Oh, and you can not compair the spirit and bravery of a volunteer soldier fighting for his freedom vs a soldier that is forced into military service and has nothing to lose. I am not saying that it would be like in Iraq where we took down the worlds 4th largest army in meer days, but I think that china knows better than to go in an all out conventional war with the US for the same reason that preditors avoid eachother. Each one knows the other can/will fuck them up royal.

“compair”

as long as there is no spelling bee, it sounds like we are all set to win.

oh nooo i spelled something wrong. fml.

people who spell things wrong generally really like guns. We’re good.
