Regardless, where would China be without us buying all their shit? They need us, though this discussion is fun.
Walmart won’t let a war happen
lol
I’m surprised it took 2 pages for someone to mention the real limiting factor to conflict between the USA and China. Our economies are so dependent on each other that any conflict would destroy both countries regardless of who won militarily. This is all political maneuvering…China can’t sit back and ignore an influx of US military equipment to their neighbor, even though its just defensive weapons that are being proposed, or they will look weak in the international arena.
I’d like to see how Buffalo responds to an invasion by China…lol
Also, I’d like to see how well the Chinese fair traveling across the country West to East, given they invade in that direction. That’s a long fucking trip to the east coast, with a lot of military bases in the middle, have fun!
Negative sir.
The SEALs were initially deployed in and around Da Nang, training the South Vietnamese in combat diving, demolitions, and guerrilla/anti-guerrilla tactics. As the war continued, the SEALs found themselves positioned in the Rung Sat Special Zone where they were to disrupt the enemy supply and troop movements and in the Mekong Delta to fulfill riverine operations, fighting on the inland waterways.
Combat with the Viet Cong was direct. Unlike the conventional warfare methods of firing artillery into a coordinate location, the SEALs operated within inches of their targets. Into the late 1960s, the SEALs were successful in a new style of warfare, effective in anti-guerrilla and guerrilla actions. SEALs brought a personal war to the enemy in a previously safe area. In Vietnam, Navy SEAL kill ratio was extraordinary, with over 200 enemy dead for every SEAL casualty. The Viet Cong referred to them as “the men with green faces,” due to the camouflage face paint the SEALs wore during combat missions.
The majority of the armed forces will not be nearly as effective but think of all of the special forces that we can have behind those blades of grass. Besides, we’ll call in TF 141 and call it a day.
^ lol @ the MW2 reference.
I like the comparisons to, “well look what Germany was able to do”.
Yeah, Germany was able to expand their empire by conquering their land bordered neighbors. That’s a whole hell of a lot different than transporting your military force across an ocean to attack an extremely well defended enemy.
Let’s put on the tin foil hat and assume China’s l33t hackers could somehow bring down our our communications and defensive monitoring allowing them to “sneak” a bunch of soldiers and equipment to the west coast of the US. (yeah, China, the same country that couldn’t hack a few gmail accounts without getting busted). They would still need air and sea superiority to keep delivering those battalions and protect them once they were here.
Don’t mistake the struggles the US military has fighting non-government sponsored terror cells with a lack of strength. Give them an enemy with a nice clearly defined governmental structure and you’d see the real might of the US armed forces.
But as was said, it’s all just a fun hypothetical discussion. We need their loans, they need us to buy all their cheaply made shit. This won’t go beyond saber rattling.
And we all know the Chinese have puny little sabres. What was the whole country in the pool?
That’s one big ass pool
Or is it a big… ass-pool?
9th paragraph down.
16th paragraph down.
but by all means read both articles. One angle is the ways in which china is thought to be able to knock out communications and another is an experts assessment on their abilities to tie into networks. China has spied in every sector of the US, including military. It would be foolish to assume that they haven’t found some method to get the information and access to areas they are after.
I hate how people keep mentioning the google hack…
The google hack wasn’t anything l33t or super amazing they got caught doing the same thing 16 year old Russian kids have done.
All these cyber attack scenarios are against the public sector nothing of mission critical importance for the DoD touches the “public internet” It’s not like someone can launch a DDoS attack from the internet and drop out NORAD.
I would be more worried about actual spies put into strategic locations but this threat has been around for years and isn’t going anywhere.
All I’m saying is that it would be foolish for us to assume that they do not have the information they need to do such. And if military satellites can be knocked out of commission it can cripple our sophisticated military and bring us back a few decades. Which may level the playing field.
^ Didn’t you see the movie war games? China has mad l33t auto dailers running 24/7.
Well i guess it all depends on who is in office when the Reds come. If my buddy Barry is in there we might all just sit on our asses while a big picture of Mao goes up in Times Square and ask, “what did we do wrong, how have we offended them to make them hate us so?” The generation of today is not the Generation that won WWII, thats for damn sure.
But to the guy who said China has the ability to produce a shit load of arms through basic slave labor of its population… that is true but if they produce 1000 shitty T-72 tanks and we produce 100 M-1 Abrams, guess who is going to come out on top. The idea of the union guy going on strike was also an issue encountered in our past. More often then not the situation was diffused within hours or the government just sent in the MP’s to put down the strike. No big deal there. Also the quote by Admiral Yamamoto is also a good one. I think on last count there are more guns in America then people.
America used to be good at fighting insurgencies and guerrilla warfare just search what General Pershing did in the Philippines. You cannot fight guerrillas playing by the rules, being nice and not offending anyone. How can you win when some asshole holds up in a Mosque and you cant fire back because God forbid we offend someone! On second thought we prob will loose, we have become a bunch of pussies. What a crock of shit.
:rolljerk:
Why would China invade the US? lol
They already have but this country is in super denial mode because they are easily distracted by flashing lights.
They don’t even need a military.
China uses walmart to smuggle in weapons for the invasion
