I dont know much about them except it has a twin turbo system, so is that the reason it would be expensive to maintain?
Audi’s (Well, any German car really) is expensive to fix when it breaks. The 2.7T is the motor from the late 90’s/early 00’s S4’s.
Audis break. Fairly often. and expensively.
If it were me, out of that lineup, GTP hands down for me.
Fantastic aftermarket support, it’s GM so it’s not going to break the bank if something does go wrong like a German car and it’s relatively easy to put a pulley, adjustable shocks and springs, stickys and go fast in a straight line as well as good daily characteristics.
He needs a new list of car’s…
M3 and GTP in the same list?
Is his other job choosing rims for pimp my ride? Talk about a motley crew.
Get the SAAB!
i dont know about that. not saying it would not be fixed by himself, but saab labor rates are more than regular ones at dealers, and im pretty sure the parts cost more.
I’ve always had a thing for M3’s.
I admittedly am not a GM fan, and in particular don’t care for the Grand Prix, but bang for the buck I’d say the GTP wins. Decent power potential, parts are readily available, and labor won’t kill you. Definitely the value leader.
Not sure why the Altima gets no love as it would probably be my choice if I was planning on keeping the car for an extended period. It’s not necessarily flashy but I believe there are some nice parts available and you get the VQ35DE which has plenty of aftermarket support thanks to the 350Z and G35. I thought at one point they were running that generation of Altimas in a race series?
Used parts are pretty easy to find, there are quite a few independent shops around whose rates are bad. They are very easy to work on, minus needing an obscure part or two here and there.
truth…i know Danhr just had hid Saab in for a head Gasket at Wright and it wasn’t cheap at all…nor was the list of stuff they wanted to charge him so it would pass Inspection
mazda…but a wagon. i have a thing for wagons.
That can be said for any carmaker’s stealership to change a head gasket.
our labor rates are like $30 an hour more for saab. i realize the job is expensive like you said. but the labor rates on saabs are rediculous
Wow, good thing i don’t let anyone touch my car except me.
this list came from needing a good performance car with good value under 10,000 dollars. no 4 cylinders unless turbo and no 8’s. 6 cylinders were preferred. this is the best list i could think of with those requirements. if anyone has better cars to name under those requirements that would be great.
the altima with the vq35 is a great car, the engine can make some serious power…the guy who owned phillydyno works had one with i/h/e/cams, and it souded so mean
lexus is300.
end the fucking thread and buy the car already.
