you ever try reverse grip bench? i LOVE doing those for triceps. its a hell of alot easier on your wrists than close griping the bar

Rightn ow bics i am kinda watching what i eat but not taking that aprt to serious,i have always had a good metabolism and a naturally shaped body so i can kinda get away with not doing all that eating right shit. I want to eat what i want n not have to pay attention to carbs n so fourth,i have found myself not eating as much junk food or fast food though lately. My goal is to be around 210-215 of pretty good muscle,i like to think that i am pretty strong for my size as is right now. Now if there was an easy way to do chest i would be set :slight_smile: I need to lift for strength but size as well(210-215) and moderatley big…

your only problem witht eh chest is your mind set towards lifting, you only like to do what your already good at, there fore not focusing on anything u need to work on…you’ll see results if you keep workin on it, hell you just started like a week ago!

Yeah I do reverse grips…I like them…they kinda scare you thinking that the bar may fall on your face if you get the weight moving in that direction. I make sure i have a good spot (smokeyturd).

Devin if it is a weak point for you you have to work hard at it…but do not neglect things you are naturally good at. Also be sure to use perfect form…it is easy to fall into the trap of using terrible form in order to move up on weight. Just pick a weight you do for 6-8 reps with perfect smooth form and try to move the weight up a little every or everyother week. Once you get in the groove then I would try maybe strips or drop sets.

anyone ever bench with your palms open? That’ll keep you in perfect form for fear of you dropping the bar if you loose balance. I do that all the time

:hsugh: :eek3: fuck that…too risky…you fuck up then you are going to the hospital. In HS I was spotting a kid on decline and he was doing the not wrapping his thumb technique…I was spotting him with my hands on the bar (he had 185 on) and he said get your hands off…the next rep when I took my hands off and dropped it on his neck…had to be taken to the hospital and was balled up for a little while.

My buddy was doing overhead curls with a 45 plate n it dropped on his face n broke his tooth to shreds,lol.good thing he had a rock for a head as well!

its not wrist strength, its the angle that you put the wrist under…it just hurts my wrists bad if i try to do narrow grip…so i do isolations with cables, skull crushers, and reverse grip bench for my tri’s. it works very well. reverse grip maybe ackward at first but you get used to it.

AND YOU NEED A SPOTTER. its hard to even get 135 off the rack by yourself with the reverse grip, but i can rep out 195-205 once i get it off LOL

Ya you have to find the width that is right for you…I like my hands where my two index fingers are almost touching the center grooved part of the bar.

For reverse grip a spotter is a must…it is really easy to mess yourself up…just an awkward grip. Especially if you are new at them…they feel crazy.

I know guys that dropped shit on their heads before too lol, seems like it happens too often
