When you figured out the calories per day, did you enter in some sort of daily excercise? Because I THINK the daily intake of calories is also relevant to the amount of excercise you do in a day.
If you already answered this, I apologize… There are 4 new pages in this thread since last night.
I do NO excersise at all… just cleaning the house. My job requires that I sit on my ass and answer the phone all day. I have learned to make better food choices and I don’t feel hungry. No I don’t live on carrots and celery. But certain foods can be consumed in high quantities without causing damage to your diet. Some of the ones I know are Strawberries, green beans, spinach, tomatoes, bell peppers, broccoli, grapes and whole grains. Also, changing from Vegetable oil to Olive Oil helps alot. And change from margarine to butter.
Here is what I do…
I buy the frozen skinless boneless chicken breasts… I cook them in the microwave with some water , salt, pepper and butter (about 10 minutes from frozen) Then eat a can of green beans with it. Or… I cook the chicken breast and make a spinach salad with cheese, tomatoes and zesty italian salad dressing I make at home with Olive oil. (The little powder packets of salad dressing are what I use.)
Also, if I need a sweet snack… I make oatmeal and add brown sugar. Brown sugar is better for you than white sugar.
The last time I did this I went from a size 10 to a size 4 in about 3 months.
kerwin heights, hmmm I wonder if I have ever met him while working the lemuiex golf inventational over the past several summers. I;m bad with name so I would probably have to see him to know.
Anyways,
How much cardio? would waking up to do like 30 min on a nodic track be enough to try and kick start the day? Eat before I do that or after?
Or do you think doing 30 min when I wake up then 30 min before i go to sleep would work better?
One thing to keep in mind is I have to get showered when I wake up and then leave 1 hour prior to starting work. So If I start at 7am, waking up at 4 after I just got done working the day prior 7am till 11pm, isn’t going to work.
(yes my work scdule can get that fucked up).
Example of my past schedule transition from Sunday Frbruary 26th Till Today.
Shit like this happens every 4 weeks when the rotation changes. This week was particulaly bad due to one of the guy’s wife popping out a kid and taking 6 weeks leave. If I work a 12 or 16 hour shift I go home right to bed. In between 8 hour shifts like the 2nd and 3rd, I usually am up for a few hours when I get home to get stuff done and then go to sleep or I go to sleep and wake up early to get stuff done prior to leaving.
I know you didn’t ask but when I say I work a fucked up schedule, people just really have no clue how fucked up it really is, and they think I’m just blowing it out of proportion. :gives:
well my cousin is joey, hes a big guy. he used to drive a white kitted 3rd gen eclipse with huge chrome wheels.
anyway
whatever cardio you can do upon waking is going to help! make sure to drink alot of water throughout the day. i need to research more but ill get back to you with more info when i find something good!
The calculator I used you can pick your activity level. That why I posted +/- after the totals it was spitting out at me. That was for a seditary life style (worse case winter) and a moderate activity (me during the summer).
Some eating habits we have always had,
Use a lot of garlic, olive oil, and herbs when cooking. We have a small bottle of vegitable oil in the cabinet for making popcorn, but I’m going to see how the oilive oil works next time.
Chicken we have always bought skinless boneless. We like fish but need to eat it more often. I would like to try and make it part of dinner atleast 3 times a week., No its never fried. Usually broiled or used in sushi.
We have sugar in the house but don’t use it. Its sort of there for guests. We don’t keep any junk food in the house.
We use all whole grain, wheat bread and pasta products. Only thing we have with white bread right now is mini begals due to not finding a good whole grain bagels that don’t taste like wood chips. :dunno:
Also We have located a gold mine for tangerine pomegrante juice which kicks ass. Fresh Avocado has also been a hit especially when we make sushi.

Yeah I knew that. As soon as they come back in season I want to start using it on my sandwiches instead of other condiments like mayo. When they are off season they somtimes get “woody” veins in them and they suck. But the ones we had over the summer kicked ass to the point I would eat one by itself with a bit of lemon juice or soy sauce for lunch at work. Yeah yeah the soy is high in sodium I know, but it wasn’t drenched…lol
im impressed you dont know your max. most people live and die by how much weight they can lift at one given exercise. even people who have only been in the gym a few times want to try and max. unless your a powerlifter and compete, its pointless  there is always going to be someone bigger, faster, stronger and more defined than you are.
health and fitness should be a competition only with yourself to achieve your goals!
it’s because of people like you that most gym’s suck ass. I looked at numerous gym’s and found that most of the people had this type of attitude.
Like 240 says, it’s about personal goals. I can ask anyone at my gym for help on an exercise or a spot and never had one person act like he was better than anyone else.
So I tried doing some bench presses with dumbells tonight. Holy cow how much your cheating your smaller muscles by using a machine or even a barbell.
I picked up 2 50lb ones just to give it a shot and was shaking really bad by the 13th or 14th rep. I didn’t feel like I had failed but apparently my accessory muscles had.
Wow, I’m definitely throwing more dumbells into my bench and military press.
