blah blah blah.
It’s got 64MB RAM, 160MB HDD, supports up to 8GB micro SD cards, 400mhz processor.
This phone pretty much does everything you could imagine, short of the legendary Samsung BJ-500, in which Kolar’s mom popped up and started sucking your dick when you got a new voicemail.
Cool Shit you can do with it:
Internet: And everything that comes with it. The older smartphones and PDA’s were very limited in their web surfing, but this phone gives you the real thing. Get bored, watch you horny I hear the internet has porn. Need information: Wikipedia or Google. Out in the field, take pictures and e-mail them to cutsomers/distributors/the home office, etc., instantly.
Orb: A program that gives your phone remote access to your desktop. You can download or stream any video, picture, or file on your computer to your phone in a snap as well as stream internet tv and if you have a tv tuner card, you can watch live television the same as you could at home. Good quality too. I usually download the Daily Show overnight, then stream it to my phone when I’m eating lunch. Very pimp.
When you’re in the car, with a bluetooth headset and Voice Command, you can launch programs, play music by band name, genre, or album, dial phone numbers, launch phone calls from your contact list, etc. Simply amazing.
If you’re out and about with your laptop, you can use this phone as a wireless broadband modem for your laptop. Like having the entire world be your wireless network.
Come september, GPS will be enabled and you’ll be able to run programs like Garmin and Tom Tom.
For the IT guys, it’s got Office Mobile, so you can create/edit/e-mail andy Office document. Just last night I was at the bar and got a call at like 9:00 from a woman who wanted a quote on a pool. I pulled up a proposal word document through Orb from my computer at home, filled in everything I needed in Word Mobile, then e-mailed it right off to her in like 10 minutes. She was thrilled.
I’m sure theres tons of things I’m forgetting, but here’s some screenshots from MY phone as I have it set up. All of the shots are scaled true to life.
Threaded SMS (a la instant messenger), which is a breeze with a QWERTY keyboard:
Skinnable Desktop: Here’s mine (iPhones do have a great GUI, so I stole most of it)
“ppod” ipod emulator:
Google Maps:
Notes program where you can jot things down with the stylus as if you had a piece of paper:
SBSH Pocket Weather:
Video Player:
Some interesting youtube videos of the Mogul in action:
WIFI vs. EVDO speed test
PDA controlling a robot thing with video feedback:
Mogul Video sample:
Playing Hellfire:
So for those of you who dont mind carrying around a little bit bulkier cell phone and paying a little more money, PDA phones are the shit. I highly recommend.
