Pivot HeadLight..

I got me a problem. I installed the pivot headlight controller but…they aren’t even when in sleepy eye form. Does anyone know how to correct this or fine tune it so that they are even? I’m real picky when it comes to the fine details of things and it’s come to the point where i don’t even use my sleepy eyes anymore because of this. Someone please help!

well i just installed them as well…

you’re right, sometimes, they’re not even…

i usually keep playing with it until they are even…

You should have saved yourself the money and done it witha togel switch, you get the same affect.
The headlights are not even because the motors start to work a fraction of a second later, only thing you can do to fix it is open your hood and adjust them manually.

I put a toggle switch in and my headlights aren’t even either (only really
noticable if you look at it close enough).

I’m gonna guess this is probablly normal for a 10-14yr old car, where the
motors are proablly somewhat worn.

Correct me someone if I’m wrong…

^^^ You’re right, my toggle is the same, sometimes it’s even sometimes it’s waaaay off, you just have to do it until it’s good.

It’s also easier and a hell of a lot cheaper to do the toggle switch (1.50 after taxes) and you get the exact same effect.

On the way up generally the right headlight is slower.

To get them even or close enough do it when the headlights are going down.

Or just do what i did and remove the piviot realy. :stuck_out_tongue:

you guys are right don’t waste your money on a Pivot controller…

you can probably wire in some sorta variable resistor to get the height that you want. Thats all the pivot controller is really… it just time s the amount of time that the motor is turned on for.

I made a switch with a long wire, so if I really wanna get picky about how
high I want it, I just stand outside the car, and then watch as the headlight
goes down. And the swtich is hidden when I put it back so you can’t see it.

And the headlight go down slow enough for you to pick the proper height.

i beleve the thred that tell how to do this is gone so i would like to know where you wired the switch

can anyone help???

pull the switch out that controls the pop-up action of your headlights, once out, you will find a brown wire with a silver stripe on it, cut that wire and attach a switch to it.

well that is not to bad,
done and done

GREEN WIRE!!! Not brown… green.

DRE

haha well that i am not really worried about, but thanks’

dude it’s a brown wire, not a green one, it’s brown on mine and all the tutorials you’ll find are for brown/grey wire not green.

I saw the brown wire on site as well where the dude
has a 95 180sx. It’s JDM TYTE, unlike our CDM (or USDM).

i know it’s a jdm car, but mine is the same. I’ll go and take a picture tomarrow. My wires are 2 light green grey stripe, 3red, purple, and brown. My brown is cut with a switch and works fine.

Maybe they both work, i don’t know. :?
