how did this change from scanners to detectors?

sorry…i was browsing but i figure for all the effort to listen to everything the cops say as compared with a properly used radar detector that the detector is an obvious choice

both have advantages, but the cops aren’t exactley “chatty-cathy’s” announcing they’re every move on the radio.

It would be better to hack their GPS, and set it up in car (i’ve seen they’re set-up first hand {not only from the backseat, but in presentations too}) They’re(GRPS) GPS shows the city map and squad cars (orientation/speed) wereabouts.

Well this is coming from my buddy who’s a tow truck driver.

The police have switched to a digital system now and no longer use a “trunk” system. Only fire and ambulance use the old style now.

If you do get one, make sure you test it first for the area(s) you want to use it in. You need it programed for different divisions.

the digital system is the trunk system… the police use Motorola units.

radar detectors are becomming useless these days since cops use Lazer and it is a On Off system, once the lazer detector goes off you are already caught, there is also the very rare occurance of splash off another car but you better do abs lockup to avoid getting the ticket.

you can buy lazer jammers and they are legal and aparently work…

i agree , just get the same thing the Tow truck drivers got , Their the First to hear calls on the system
when i crashed on the highway … the tow truck driver showed up in few mins after the cop showed up. He later told me that he heard that some1 had crashed on the highway . and sped to the scence before another tow truck driver takes the car.
