Political Debate

This is call the trickle down effect and it DOESN’T ALWAYS WORK!!..in principal it sounds good, but as seen in the past doens’t always work.
more money in the rich’s pocket during a bad economy sometimes leads to them saving not spending

Thats the difference between the Dem & Repub on this subject…the dems like to give us the money & Repubs like to give the rich the money and maybe it will help us out

I was in the car for about 1hr of it and Bush sounds like an idiot!!
My wife has a degree in english so she knows a little about public speaking & says that he is one of the worst speakers she has heard…politics aside she & I can’t stand him…it just makes her&me cringe to hear him talk

i have a degree… kerry sucks by limiting his responses to empty promises.

politics aside i can’t stand kerry… it just makes me cringe to hear him talk.

why, can he can actually convey his opinion in an educated way unlike our current president.

every politician gives empty promises, that’s what it is all about - moot point

I would rather have someone intelligent enough to form a sentence in office than not.

while i can agree… debates are moot in themselves… the points are all talking points for the media… nothing that is said is the true grit of it… everyone is just up there to sway opinions.

i just see kerry jump around stances to sway peoples opinion to vote for him… i know how politics work and i’ll take the one stance idiot over the multiple stance intellect (because it’s all BS and he has his own agenda anyway, so why not just state his plan and run with it?).

in english??

I got a dgreee too but its in CS…so i’m far from judging someone cause my english writing & speaking is not the best

she (my wife) has a english degree (ndergrad) and also finishing up grad school now for a masters degree & teaching certificate, so she has spent tons of time writing, speaking etc…and she says bush is a moron…and i’m talking politics a side here.
if he wasn’t the pres. and you heard him on the radio you would be like WTF??

i’m not talking about what they were saying…empty promises, plans, ideas, etc… I’m jsut talking about them presenting themselves & speaking on national TV.

i dont have a dgreee

i’m only saying that so you get an idea of her experience in english & public speaking…

its not like my wife doesn’t know what she is talking about.

if it were my opinion you could be like what do you know about public speaking and i have no answer…i’m just giving an opinion from a reputable source.

my point is that your wife’s opinion doens’t mean too too much because it’s obviously biased… mainly from what you wrote in your post about the two of you hating bush.

my post was just using your last few sentences and instead of hating on bush, i hated on kerry to show the opinionated responce.

while i’m most likely going to vote bush, let it be known that you don’t need a college degree to realize that bush is teh suck at public speaking.

my wife hates politics…and she just hates bush cause he a idiot…nothing to do with him being pres.

you can call her opinion biased if you want…but you said it yourself…you don’t need a college degree to realize that bush is teh suck at public speaking

my thing is this…
and nobody has responed…
Bush pushes an economic plan that doesn’t benefit the middle or lower class at all…and don’t bring up the trickle down “tax cut the rich thing” causs thats B.S.
he pushs this plan and people eat it up with a spoon & love the guy…then bitch about heathcare prices, taxes etc…
to me…you want to vote for the guy that will make your life better…and bush isn’t doing that for me…and uless you got a ton of money he probably isn’t benefiting most of the people on here.
Luckily I got a decent heathcare package cause i work for Pitt, but it still sucks & has consistantly gone up since he got into office…so i know the poeple paying out of pocket for cobra, or some other heathcare are getting raped…and lets not talk about priscriptions:madfawk:

I just think people don’t do their homework before voting…

its like the guy you know that just buys shit without doing a little researching…he gets the 32" Apex TV from wallmart for $300 cause he is there and just buys it…but if he had taken a little time to look around & compare $ & quality…he could have gotten a sony, hitachi, etc…for like $50 bucks more.

if bush is the best for you then vote for him…i can understand that…i just hate the people who don’t vote for the best option for them & then bitch…and i know a lot of people like that…

:bigthumb:

just like Michael Moore does…

people hate the guy& his films…but he make a good point…
were force fed Right wing media on a daily basis…would it hurt you to take 2hrs of your time to see things from a different prospective.

its somthing to get you thinking??

cutty said that L. Bush is a good 1st ladie cause she stay quiet…

yeah well if your spouse was on national TV and in the media all the time making an ass of him/herself you’d stay quiet too.

as i see your point 100%… i don’t want to respond to it because i hate politics… i work for a law firm and there is more political bullshit around this place than i would care to deal with my entire life. i’ve heard all the arguments for and against, all the outsider point of views and whatnot.

now, i also agree that my healthcare has gone up and it’s a PITA…

BUT, i have yet to hear a solid stance from kerry as to what his healthcare agenda would be? kerry said a lot about fixing things that Bush has over looked… i’m just questioning his ability to do so while at war on a scarce budget.

so i don’t know who to vote for… the guy that tells you there isn’t enough money to fund a war and fix problems at home…

or the guy that says he’ll end the war and fix anything and everything.

please please please don’t get me started on Hienz-kerry.

first off… why in the WORLD!!! would john kerry let his wife keep, NOT HER MADIEN NAME, but the last name of her ex-husband??? :ugh:

let alone her bullshit ideals and nasty tone. she talks shit on pittsburgh, but she married into one of the biggest companies based in pittsburgh.

i fucking hate her.

x2

trickling does work… like all plans, it takes time, but when its in full swing it works the best

hahahahaha

it’s like communism, on paper it’s the best fucking thing going but in real life it just doesn’t work.

:bsflag:

I hope you make a shit load of money, casue if not i have no idea why you would back a trickle down

like i said…IF!!!
and with the state of our economy…a tax cut to the rich will stay in their pocket…i know i had a shit load of money i’m not tryin to invest in a shit economy.

eh, I come from a well off family who see’s those kinds of benefits. I don’t personally though. You prob make more than me

you want to know how to fix the economy?

convince unionized auto workers that they don’t need to try to make as much as lawyers. bring automobile production back to america.

if not socialized medicine, then at least some sort of government program that covers yearly check-ups and prescription medicine. a worker who has health care will go see a doctor sooner, and potentially miss less work as a result… more productivity is better for everyone.

aggressively market american goods to foreign markets. while i do believe japanese products are superior in most respects, america has, in the past decade, definitely narrowed the quality gap. start hyping the fuck out of Ford Focuses (Foci?) in China… there’s a huge consumer boom going on in China and we should do everything we can to be the guys from whom they buy all their stuff.

enforce a strict gas guzzler tax for SUVs and large cars. if we were all getting 30+mpg, OPEC wouldn’t have us “by the balls”. We use less gas, we need less gas, we pay less for it. And with higher fuel economy standards, we pollute less, deplete the resources less, and send less of our money to the middle east. sounds like a win for conservatives and liberals.

tougher schools. make school hard again. kids graduate every year with laughable knowledge and little self-discipline. let’s make the american public school system widely respected by every other civilized nation. make fluency in a second language mandatory. hell, make fluency in english mandatory too. far too many people graduate high school with average grades and yet have no clue how to compose a sentence, let alone a dissertation. a better educated society (with more self-discipline) is essential to remaining the number one nation on Earth. when advances are made in medicine, science, literature, and technology, don’t you want them to be made here? if they’re our innventions and innovations, we’ll reap the rewards of selling them to foreign markets.

shit… i just realized how long this post has gone… i could go on all day, but i’ll stop here…
