the last few days ive been noticing that when i turn my car off there is a slight humming in the back end for a second or two. sounds like it could be my fuel pump. could it be starting to die on me? common occurance?
It is normal for the pump to hum, and its normal for it to pump when the car is off. So yeah, common occurance.
When my fuel pump crapped out, it would only work sometimes over the course of a couple weeks. Crapped out completely after that.
If its only 2-3 seconds after the ignition is turned off then its just the pump ensuring that there is enough fuel in the lines and rail for when you restart. It could also be some of the emissions items but I’m not entirely sure since your’s does not come from that era (more common on OBDII)
