You got a problem or something? I’m sorry if my brake product selection is not up to the par of your various hoopties, but you don’t know anything about this car (the Y50 M) or that set of brakes so I don’t understand how/why you’re drawing conclusions based on price alone (when I explained to you a couple different scenarios where $$$ isn’t always the best route to go). The recommendation is they are good. We will see.
Ive got a set of ebay special drilled and slotted rotors on my Mustang with a good set of Bosch pads and they seem ok but I rarely drive the car anyway.
Before I put them on along with newer Mustang calipers and a 5 lug swap stopping was scary with the factory style shit.
They warp because they are so large. My s4 has 12.6 inch rotors in the front, warped as a motherfucker. A quick search showed me that yours are also 12.6. A brembo blank would be my choice.
Yeh maybe you are right. A lot of the aftermarket ones seem to hold up well and not warp. But they are a big surface and are more suseptable to warpage one would assume.
We’ll see. According to other M guys, I’ll be very happy with this. But if I’m not and that ass over there (Caz) is right (that they suck), then I’ll pony up the money for some more legit stuff. Again, I’ll take the opinion of a couple guys already running this setup than that of brand loyalty for now.
Heat is what causes the rotors to warp. Some brake rotors do have improved materials, but BBK has larger surface area (and in most of them the rotor is thicker as well). Idea behind slotting / etc is to increase surface area and improve ability to remove heat from the rotors. El cheapo dryer hose brake cooling kit could probably help here too- probably not in character with pimpin’ in an Infiniti M though LOL
