Finally.

Bam. this.

Goddamn main studs were fucking 120 dollars. fucking 240 dollars on goddamn bolts. WTF

Why did you buy main studs? You are gonna need an align hone if you use them.

What is an align hone? I could just use the originals?

I think Id like to have everything fresh so nbd

anytime you use ARP/Raceware main cap studs, or case bolts on an engine like a porsche, they apply more clamp load and distort the main bearing bores. In your case the block and caps or girdle must be assembled and torqued to specs, then the main bearing bore must be align honed to bring the bores back to a concentric spec.

If you use them and don’t do it your motor will not live long, that’s if the crank even turns upon assembly.

What if I just used stock but new main studs?

you should just buy new oem main bolts dont use those main studs with out align hone. oem main bolts in my car 412 hp.

So you just replaced your main studs with oem ones when you built your car?

Yes I used oem bolts in my car, b series uses main bolts not sure on k series if they are studs or not from the factory, but for 90% of people, oem main bolts/studs is fine no need for arp main studs… Nowx when it ciomes to head studs, it is a must for boost to prevent headlift.

Alright man thanks… appreciate it guys. I’m cancelling my order right now.

i had stock reused main bolts on my 500+whp b series motors. no need to main studs imo, stick with the stock stuff, unless the stock main bolts are known issue. When you align hone the motor it can affect the oil pump clearances, you either have to shim or shave down the pump sometimes, its just a bag of worms you would rather not get into.

Yah fuck that… really glad you guys said something.

precisely.

Im acutally running the main bolt delete kit I picked up off Shady Motors

:rofl:rofl

Hope you like it man!
